1. Who voted for Nixon?
I think we have a case for proving, point by point, that W has done as much or worse than Nixon.

Which means, of course, that W should be impeached and should either be convicted or resign in disgrace. Unfortunately, he'll probably get reelected first just like Nixon. Argh!

12. We have electoral votes just like a state
and we would be a state if there were any justice in this country. Except the Republicans will never allow DC statehood as long as we're 90%+ Democratic.

2. Worst?
Harding was really corrupt. Tea-pot dome?
Nixon, well....yeah.

Anyways, Bush is evil and sucks, but I went with Harding anyways, because I bet he needed a few votes.

3. Whereas a good case could be made for Hoover and Nixon
I voted for *, as I think he's inflicting more long term damage than either of them, damage that will last for years after he leaves office.

4. Reagan and then George W. Bush.
Ronald Reagan created the new type of Republican - defense pork, tax cuts, etc. He's the enabler of guys like George W Bush. I don't really have a problem with Bush 41, since I don't know much about him. While the current Bush is pretty bad, I think that in history he will shrink in evilness. There have always been imperialist Presidents (like Teddy Roosevelt or Taft and probably many more that I can't think of) and there have always been dishonest Presidents (Nixon). So I'm gonna vote for Reagan.

6. Hoover
My grandparents lived through the Great Depression and the uncaring truly elitist response to the crisis from that administration is the primary reason my grandfather went to his grave having always voted straight Dem tickets.

I will never forget his words to me, "Son, the Republicans don't care nothing for anyone except the rich man."

I have never in my life seen anything to make me believe differently.

10. This was too easy
However Hoover gets a bum rap. Actually his inflexible republican businessman's approach was intelligent- which was the problem. FDR respected and did not buck the slow approach like he would against a silly hack. The Keynesian cure of the war finally ended the grinding go it slow approach to the economy. ALL GOPers are hamstrung by ideology. Dems who go along with this impressive "professional" world view keep getting sucked in.

Bush I is underrated here. He was a blunderer in policy, weak and ineffectual in trying to jumpstart the economy for election time. Same as Hoover but without the brains. he blew the war, vaguely started the really dirty plans Junior has revealed.

Badness should be less ideologically defined. Political effectiveness(regardless of whether you hate them), Personal leadership, effective policy performance, crisis management, serving the interest of America(even if a sidebar). In this sense Eisenhower even is mixed. His lack of charisma, failure to control McCarthyism, total focus on foreign affairs.

Only Bush II is bad from A to Z. Even his effectiveness is ruinous for America while possessing support from all three branches AND the media. Now here for sure is someone who makes Dick Nixon look stellar, although Nixon in essence paved the way for this disaster.

The overall "badness" of the GOP for America should be noted, especially the inflexible slanted ideology and political divisiveness, anti-democratic self-defense against the majority it will never serve. And they never seem to get it all together with personal leadership, brains, effectiveness. Their candidates and prospects are still universally terrible- for which we should be grateful.

14. I never thought anyone would surpass Reagan
as a bad Prez. He was totally horrible and his administration had awfully destructive national policies that laid the groundwork for the decline of democracy that we have experienced recently. But Bu$h is even worse than Reagan.

15. Nixon.
He disgraced the White House with his scandal and Agnew's scandal. He killed 600,000 Cambodians, supported several evil dictatorships in Latin America and elsewhere, and sold out Taiwan. He also had two recessions in six years.

16. Coolidge and Bush Jr.
Coolidge laid the foundation for the Great Depression (and Hoover just made it worse).
