It's late in the 3rd period, Team Hillary is down by several goals:
The coach of Team Hillary has two choices:

1. Take your star players off the ice, put on the second line, don't draw any penalties and run out the clock. There's another game to be played.

2. Pull your goalie, keep your scoring line out there even though they're hurting, forecheck like crazy, and get shots on goal. There's nothing after this game.

2. But, it's for the stanley cup!!
The coach called a timeout and Team Hillary is pulling out all the stops.

3. The problem comes
when they try to make a goal, but instead bounce the puck off the glass and smack themselves in the head.

4. Lay it all out on the ice!
If you're looking at an elimination game in the playoffs, you lay it all out on the ice - you pull the goalie, throw your best players on the ice and get the goal so you can live on to play in the next game. You may tie up the series 3-3 and win it in game 7!

5. Not quite a complete analogy, though...
because, in this version of hockey, after these two teams are done playing, they have to join forces to take on a fresh team that's itching for a fight and has a big reputation for playing very, very dirty.

8. Agreed. We seem to forget that we're playing a pickup game, and we're fighting
a fresh team for the championship as soon as we finish this one.

6. Set yourself on fire....
and roll around on the ice mocking your opponent to scare the crowd into voting you a victory you just pissed away....

7. Nice hockey analogy. I think she needs to choose 2
Gotta at least get the score even to make overtime. It's essentially game 6, down 3 games to 2, and Clinton needs to extend the series to a game 7, so she really has no choice. There's really no more ways to claw back. She's going to have to gamble. The stakes are high, and a big victory is needed now.

12. Hillary reminds me of Daniel Alfredsson, the incredible captain of the Ottawa Senators
Of course she doesn't remind me of him looks-wise, but in actions, talent, and leadership.

People like Alfie and Hillary know that in order to pull it out when the chips are down, they have to go out there and get things going by setting the example themselves and DOING. She'll get the job done.
