When Bush's TV/Radio commercial says that Kerry "would have put off |
|
defending the US to wait for the UN's approval";
Isn't that admitting that they were trying to make Iraq an "imminent threat"?

I don't think any country needs UN approval to defend itself against an imminent threat.
But "Imminent Threat" has been another huge weasel term in the age of Bushisms.

3. Actually, the Repukes were throwing that term around every time |
|
Clinton wanted to do something humanitarian which involved the military.
Kosovo, Haiti, Bosnia. None of these were "imminent threats" to our "national interests".

6. True. Rumsfeld keeps saying that nobody ever said "imminent threat." |

4. Bush is going off the theory that it takes too much time to refute a lie |
|
to reverse the damage caused by it. Therefore, they will blatantly lie during the whole of the election year.

5. That's what America wanted |
|
That's the funniest part of that ad in my mind. Most of America WANTED to get UN approval before we went to war in Iraq.
