Rasmussen tracking poll - Kerry 47% Bush 44%
Today:
Bush - 44
Kerry - 47

March 23rd:
Bush - 47
Kerry - 45

March 22nd:
Bush - 48
Kerry - 45

These numbers reflect quite a change in the race after Bush had been leading Kerry for seven straight days. The recent news cycle may be taking a toll on the President's numbers. Only time will tell whether this is a lasting shift or just a temporary aberration.

Can this be as a result of the 9/11 hearings?

2. I guess Kerry's strategy of staying out of the public eye
during the 9/11 testimony must be having an effect.

He has said nothing, is studying the issues, and I think a portion of the nondecided swing vote beleives Clarke and the Clinton people more than Bush's people. Condoleezas refusal to testify is also not playing well.

3. Margin of Error
Isn't this all within the margin of error on all the polls for the last 10 days or so? If so, this is just like watching static, I think.
