Medical Alert - Clarke summary
After Clarke's testimony our christian conservative moral absolutist citizens will need heart treatment:

Clarke: (totally fucking honest and awesome)

The attack on the aspirin factory was "ABOUT TERRORISM" . "Some people to this day say otherwise." right wing hate radio??

My background briefing with faux was not about morality it was about politics - replying to dumbass thompson. Clarke said he was asked to put a positive spin on the terrorism fight. He said he's given background talks like that for other presidents.

faux news "Occasionally fair and balanced." - Kerry

"THE PRESIDENT UNDERMINED THE WAR ON TERROR BY ATTACKING IRAQ."

I am not working for Senator Kerry's campaign and I won't take a job if offered in the Kerry administration.

Thompson and Lehman may as well pack their bags and go home.

1. Thompson looked like a dolt...
"Uh, uh, I'm from the Midwest and I'll just leave it at that".

4. He's testifying under oath.
If someone does that, you can make a pretty safe assumption unless that person wants to be an idiot. Some things may be incorrect, but the overall picture is do damning to Bush that it doesn't matter.

6. are you serious?
so if he had said Bush did a good (sorta like he apparently said in 2002) you'd think he was being honest? people don't lie under oath?

so I take it that means you believe Powell and Rumsfeld?

great system: if someone says what I already believe, he's honest, otherwise he's not...

8. He has nothing to gain...
and could lose his credibility if he got caught lying to this panel.

I will say that a man or woman who has spent 30+ years in gov't service under several administrations probably has an exemplary record, and is more beholding to the Constitution as opposed to someone who could well be gone in 4 years.

I believe that Mr. Clarke is an individual of dignity and poise. Forget the shallow arguments, this man is doing a service for this country, and I wish we had more like him, regardless of political affiliation. Mr. Clarke was a breath of fresh air with his candor, and obvious love for a country he sees threatened by this administration.

Clarke never took an oath to protect the president, he took an oath to protect the country.

11. I fail to see your point...
if he is lying, that's the way it goes.

But this particular individual, IMHO, is not lying. To sow seeds of doubt, is a normal response to something we do not wish to hear. But I prefer to hold to the ideology, that unless the lying is blatant, or the individual has a reason for lying, I will accept what is said as valid until shown otherwise.

I did this for Clinton, Reagan and OJ. I want facts, and when they come to light, I will accept them and change my mind.

At this point, I have no reason to doubt Clarke or his honesty.

3. Clarke was the most believable witness I've seen...
since Clarence Thomas was beat up by a very poised and articulate woman named Anita Hill. :)
