Nader's site tells you why you shouldn't vote for him
Bush would continue on his same reckless course in Iraq if reelected. Bush would push through Patriot Act II. He would retain John Ashcroft. Bush would continue with his tax policies for the top 1%. The Medicare bill would be enacted and remain the same as it was signed.

From the Nader web site (Why Ralph):

The Democratic Party is part of the problem.

They voted for or failed to stop the Iraq war resolution turning Bush into a wartime president.

They voted for or failed to stop the Patriot Act.

They voted for or failed to stop John Ashcroft.

They voted for or failed to stop Bush’s tax cuts for the wealthy.

They voted for or failed to stop the Medicare fiasco.

They lost the 2002 midterm elections, contrary to historical tradition.

In 1983, the Democrats controlled 23 more state legislatures than the Republicans; today the Republicans control five more than the Democrats.

In 1983, there were 18 more Democratic governors than Republican ones; Now there are three more. New York, Massachusetts, Kentucky, California, Florida and Texas are all Republican controlled.

More young adults today identify themselves as Republicans than 20 years ago, while fewer identify themselves as Democrats.

1. And here's some from a repentant Nader voter.

There's another interesting argument halfway down this other page:

The fact that congressional Democrats lack a backbone actually strengthens our argument.

If a mainstream Democrat-or even a mainstream Republican-occupied the White House, most of the Bush disasters would not have happened. Bush is extreme, and we can't count on Democrats in Congress to stop him. That's why we need regime change in the White House.

2. The only reason I am voting for Kerry
is because I hate Bu$h. Not because I hate Nader.

3. Let Me Tinker With It A Little
If Kerry were President:

We would still have inspectors in Iraq.

We would have a Patriot Act based on intelligence sharing, not abusing the Constitution.

John Ashcroft would be known only as the guy who lost an election to a dead guy (Kerry voted against him, btw).

Kerry wouldn't have to bother rescinding the tax cuts, because they wouldn't have happened. The revenues would be funding education and health care right now.

We wouldn't be talking about the medicare fiasco (that Kerry left the campaign trail to filibuster), we'd be on the road to universal health care - a pillar of his current campaign.

Let me add that we wouldn't have a handful of Supreme Court Justices trying to hang on for another 4 years, either.

Check out Public Citizen's records to get an idea of what kind of progressive we have in store for the next 4-8 years. A progressive that sounds like a centrist is still a progressive.
