Poll question: Should the Kerry campaign keep challenging us to raise $1 million per day?
Looks like the challenge will be met:

but $1 million a day is a pretty ambitious goal... should that be the goal going forward?

1. I hated to vote no but,
I know I can't financially help that much more this month or possibly next and I know some others are probalby in the same boat. I think later on in the year .... like maybe after during or a week before the actual Democratic Convention that we should do another major fund drive. But not now... I think it would be pushing it and make the 10 mil we have raised not as big an accomplishment as it actually is.

2. nooo
it's better to do it every once in a while as he is doing now. or else people will just get bored and lose interest.

the idea of having 10 different democrats on each day of fundraising was good in getting people excited and wanting to give, especially if it was someone they really liked. they should do the same thing next time unless they come up with something better.

4. Maybe challenges that are not 'timed' would be better

'Help us raise $2 million to put our new ad on the air' and so forth. As soon as it's up to $2 million, a new challenge... I guess there is a lot of psychology involved, I'm not sure which is more effective...

6. I agree..
give the challenges a break for a while and then start up a new one with a new goal, new graphic..if they do that then they will get more repeat donors than if they have one never ending fundraiser.

3. Absolutely not.
The Kerry campaign needs to challenge us to raise $5 million a day. Parity with Bush!

5. I am so tired of being constantly put in the position.....

of trying to buy my country back. Yes, I know it costs alot of money too run a campaign efficiently. I am also aware of the corporate sponsored presidency we currently have. I just don't understand why campaign reform is so long in coming and what little legislation that has been passed to even the playing field is nothing more than putting a bandaid on a major surgery, in fact, it's a joke for the most part.

What strikes me most is that money wins out over the message in current day politics and the corporate media has too much influence. Something has got to be done to change this.

I'm sure I speak for many when I say, I'm tapped. I live month to month like a great many others and I just don't have it. I am struggling with gas prices, the higher cost of groceries, utilities, property taxes, prescription medicine and the care and feeding of the two unwanted pets I took in.

Kerry is going to have to get along on the donations of those that can afford it and step up his message and start inspiring those that feel disenfranchised or are on the fence. He's gonna have to ratchet up his speeches and get the entire party revved up and prove that substance over fluff can prevail, good wins out over evil, truth is always preferable to a lie and staking a position and fighting for it tooth and toenail is the way he can win this election. If Kerry can do this, it will change the face of American politics forever and he will have made a bigger contribution to the dem party than he'll ever know.
