9. I haven't been to a Kerry one yet, but i went to several Dean meetups
Meetup hosts were sent a package which usually contained some kind of assignment, like writing letters to voters, sometimes a DVD to show, etc. We discussed topics of interest about the campaign, had a show of hands from newcomers, gave statements about why we supported Dean, for the benefit of the newcomers, made plans for local events, like canvassing, voter reg, etc.

6. I'm going...
...to my first meetup for Kerry tonight. I had been to three for Wesley Clark and now will volunteer to do whatever is needed to insure that Kerry wins in November.

7. I'm going
A really bad venue was voted for though - a busy sit-down restaurant. I guess I'll have to make a reservation but based on last month it will be hard to predict exactly how many people will show up...

here in Albuquerque. We all decided the last time we got together (as we do about once a month) that we'd start working for Kerry at the first opportunity, so here we go...

In case anybody's wondering, the Kerry meetup here is at the Satellite Cafe, Alameda and Coors, at 7:00. See ya there.

10. Well I'm back
9 people showed up. None of them had ever been to meet-ups before. One girl had ran herself for county commissioner but lost. We're going to try and start a network of groups. I'm running an ad in the paper Sunday to see if I can get some people from my own town involved. It was really cool.:)

11. Went to one of the Kerry Meetups tonight in Nashville(just got home)
3 Kerry Meetups were held at the same time at different locations since so many people signed up to go. There were about 40 people at the one I attended. I had a great time. Met alot of interesting people all wanting to work together to get rid of Bush and get Kerry elected as our next President. We discussed different ways of bringing new people to the Democrat Party, where to go to find these people, how to get them registered to vote. I signed up to work the phone banks, to be in a parade and register people to vote. I think I will be staying pretty busy for the next 8 months and I am looking forward to it. ELECT KERRY 2004!
ps Also got me a "Kerry for President" bumper sticker

12. Just got back from the Albuquerque Kerry MeetUp
There were about 45 people there...including Land of Lincoln. We collected some money for bumper stickers and signs...got a list started for letter-writing...a list for a garage sale...and all in all...got the ball rolling gently toward November.

I should have had a decaf, though...'cause I am way too wide awake now.

Just keep on getting out there and keep the work going. We've got to pull this one off, folks.
