ReDefeat Bush Now in D.C. and N.Y.
THE COMMITTEE TO REDEFEAT THE PRESIDENT

ReDefeat Bush Now in D.C. and N.Y.

WHAT: ReDefeatBush.com will hold its fifth weekly Phone Bank to Swing States in D.C. and its first in New York. Volunteers will gather in both cities to phone and write unregistered residents of Pennsylvania.

WHEN: From 6 to 9 p.m. EST, Tuesday, March 30, 2004.

IN DC: Spy Lounge (next to Felix), 2406 18th Street, NW, near the intersection of Belmont Rd. in Adams Morgan.

IN NY: Sandobe Sushi at 167 First Avenue between 10th Street and 11th Street, in Manhattan.

ReDefeatBush.com has already held four weekly Phone Banks to Swing States in Washington, D.C., and the fifth will take place on March 30th. The first event in Arlington, Va., has been scheduled for April 14th, and additional locations are being organized in the Washington, D.C. area and in the San Francisco bay area.

The Committee to ReDefeat the President is an independent expenditure committee not affiliated with any candidate. Headquartered on the Internet at www.redefeatbush.com , its purpose is to effectively channel volunteer activities into political action that will defeat President Bush. It raises money through online contributions, events, and the sale of merchandise, including buttons, bumper stickers, T-shirts, lawn signs and condoms.

In cooperation with other organizations, it sponsors Phone Banks to Swing States nationwide. At these gatherings, activists with cell phones make phone calls to households that are likely to register as Democrats but are not currently registered to vote, and those without cell phones write letters to the voters who cannot be successfully contacted by telephone. Concentrating on a handful of key battleground states, ReDefeatBush will organize 20,000 volunteers to register on average 50 new Democratic voters each, totaling a million new voters by election day 2004.

New York Coordinator: Elana Levin 347-512-2805, elana@redefeatbush.com
Communications Director: David Swanson 301-772-0210, swanson@redefeatbush.com
