it would be "joked about" no more if not less than Cheney being Mr. heart attack. How much water did that hold? So people are going to be aware that Graham's activities will be more transparent? That would be refreshing to alot of people after and compared too Dick Cheney.

All of the potential vps have things about them that some detractor can claim will "torpedo" a ticket. But it's wholey without merrit.

Edwards sold his house to the Saudi PR people. Clark changed parties on a whim. etc etc etc.

3. His Seminole Indian story was a mistake. He shouldn't have said it

without tempering the remark with an acknowledgment of the genocide visited on the original Americans. Saying it was a "politically incorrect" statement wasn't enough.

The R's will use this against Graham and by extension, Kerry.

9. Here's the paraphrased version.

Graham was making the point about going out and bringing the fight to terrorists, not sitting back and waiting for them to hit us. As a metaphor, he told what he acknowledged was a "politically incorrect" story about Florida and the Indian wars. He first asked why are there so many places in Florida called "Fort" something or other. Answer: because there were a lot of forts erected to fight the Seminoles. He pointed out that Fort Lauderdale was burned down twice...and then the army changed plans and left the forts, taking the fight to the Indians. "Within 24 months, the Indians were defeated...and a lot of good things followed after that."

Now, we all know what he was trying to say. But he should have prefaced his story by saying something along the lines of "setting aside the right or wrong of history, and intending no comparison between 21st century terrorists and indigenous American Indians" before he told his tale.

I get it. You get it. But the Rs will turn this into a slur on Indians. Trust me.

10. I really like Bob Graham & I listened to his speech

I supported Graham before Wes Clark entered the race, but I was disappointed in his performance.

After watching his speech today, I don't think he should be Veep. I really, really like the guy. He's forgotten more about terrorism than most of us will ever know. And he's certainly 1 of the most experienced guys running around.

But, he seems to have really slowed down. He will speak & then search for a word. He reminds me of my parents, as they aged. And hey, we all have to get older, but he's not sharp enough for the campaign trail.

After his speech there was a Q & A. His answers rambled, he was not on point, but sometimes, there was a flash of brillance.

As much as I like him, this election is too important to risk.

I don't go around saying people I don't want to be vp can't be it. Graham is better qualified to be vice president and therefor president with a combination of expertise in both foreign and domestic, state and federal issues than pretty much every other talked about person.
