3. It's gonna be tough for me to help out...
Edited on Mon Mar-29-04 07:51 PM by dakota_democrat
I'm running to be president of the North Dakota Student Association, which represents over 33,000 students at the public universities in North Dakota...and to keep our group from looking partisan, which has cost us way too often, I'm gonna cut public ties with the political parties for a year...no buttons, no donations, no bumper stickers, nothing. We've have Republican NDSA presidents as far back as I know, and considering where it's gotten us, our group needs a change.

I've seen tuition rates at North Dakota State University go up from $2,754 three years ago to $3,982 for the upcoming school year. The group seems to just discuss issues instead of taking action and fighting for meaningful improvements for the students.

Wish me luck, I'm going to miss my John Kerry bumper-sticker.

6. I voted #1 but in reality, it's closer to
I will put as much energy and effort as my chronic clinical depression, and parylizing anxiety disorder will allow.

In other words, I'll do the best I can, but it might not be as much as I would want to do if I were more functional.:)

8. Dear Grasshopper, you have much to learn from the GOP Masters!
This is a quick lesson on how to drop all those crippling disorders:

1) Look at your hand (you have two, so go ahead and pick one)

2) See the fingers on the hand? The one closest to the thumb is the 'index finger'.

3) Use the 'index finger' to point to anyone else but you (there are plenty of available targets) and scream, "It's your fault!" This is known as 'passing the buck', 'placing blame', or 'voting Republican'.

4) Feel the serenity and peace of mind that comes with the absolute certainty that you are not to blame for anything, that it's those darn commie pinko bastards who did this to us!

5) Repeat whenever you feel the effects of depression or anxiety.

Seriously, I wish you the best of luck with your issues, and can only offer this advice. I have found for me that doing things like volunteering or working for a cause helps 'some' to counter depression. I hope you are able to help out in a campaign this year- it will do all of us good!

9. Thanks for your helpful advice
I feel much better now.:7 I'll go ahead and blame the fascists repukes rather than the pinko commie liberals. It's all their fault dammit.:)

I actually have been getting politically involved for the first time in my life. I got very involved in the Clark campaign. I have just recently attended my first Kerry meetup, and made my first donation to the Kerry campaign.

I plan on doing whatever I can, bearing in mind that I'm pretty socially awkward and isolated, and fairly disorganized and tend to have a pretty low energy level.

There are clearly people who can do more than I can, but I will do whatever I am able to do.

Thanks for the moral support.:hi:
