Oklahoma must really be in play.
Chimp is running around the clock campaign ads here. In the past Oklahoma has been ignored because the outcome seemed certain, if they have to spend money here they must really be worried.

1. Maybe not the Presidential election
but it seems that Brad Carson may well be your next Senator.

Good luck!

2. He's blitzing NM, too
...all for a measly 5 electoral votes. I do love to see him squandering money here so early in the race, and people here in the city aren't buying the BS. In fact, they're getting mad as hell at it.

3. Oklahoma elected a Democratic governor
for the first time in a while. That might have caused some concern.

4. not really, it's that he can afford it
he has so much money he seems to be running ads in every state. someone earlier said he was running ads in hawaii also. kerry doesn't have as much money and spending mostly in battleground states. and bush is running ads in south carolina also. i read an article where they are running ads on cable channels such as nascar channels and similar type things which represent his base. i guess because they lost their jobs and he doesn't want them to blame him.

5. Bush is flooding CNN and even CNBC!?!
Like anyone really watches CNBC he's buying up a lot of ad time.
It's disgusting looking at all these adds and it does help him with national polls and the perception tank the media will look at.

13. True. CNBC is the only thing with worser ratings than Tweety.

6. Either that or...
Bush has more money than he knows what to do with.

What a depressing thought.

You know, it could be as simple as wanting to cement his support there now, while he has the advantage and KNOWS Kerry cannot compete money-wise. It could save him some cash later on. And it's always easier to make an initial impression than to change that impression after it's established in people's minds.

If there's one thing Repubs know how to do, it's invest.

7. More reasons why Clark
should be on the ticket. He'd help win OK and NM.

8. I doubt it would help in the Presidential race
I just think Bush is too strong here, however Clark could help seal the deal for Carson. I'm sure Carson will not want Kerry here or to be associated with him, but Clark could come and campaign for him and he'd be welcome with open arms. Edwards too, for that matter.

-----

I do want to add that, no matter how bad OK is, there sure are a lot of active Democrats here. I even did the fundrace site, and it is three to one in donations for Democrats. Bush has the big $2000.00 checks, but in sheer numbers, it is a lot more for Democrats.

Edited on Tue Mar-30-04 02:24 PM by atre
who was bettered in the vote tallies by Clark by only a handful of votes in Oklahoma?

I wish that Kerry would go ahead and name the VP so we will not have anymore people pimping their candidates as the only path to victory in November.

10. I have been getting that feeling too from things I have been seeing
Most notably, on the website that shows contributions, Oklahoma was more blue (Democrat) than red (Republican).

11. I can't beleive I'm seeing ads in Texas.
The ads are on CNN and I think one or two other major networks, but I'm definitely seeing Kerry-bashing ads on.

15. Same thing in Northern Florida
Though this is the one area that is a Bush strongholdin that state. It hasnt effected the polls at all as Kerry still maintains his lead here.

18. I agree this is another reason for Clark as VP
Also, the fact that for some idiotic reason many people still seem to believe shrub is doing a good job against terrorism means Clark would add definite strength to the ticket that some see as weak on defense.

(Oh yeah, this is a clear "pimping" of my candidate, because I'll do just about anything to f-ck Bush) :headbang:
