Who the f**k is taking these polls?
I keep seeing shrub's numbers going up. How is this possible and who is taking these polls? Did he all of a sudden become an articulate truth telling fiscally responsible caring human being with an honest cabinet? NO! Who is being polled?!!

4. What polls are you talking about?
I'm only aware of the CNN poll with his approval rating above 50 percent. Did another one come out today corroborating that?

5. Uh, there's just one poll doing that
CNN/USA TODAY/GALLUP produced an odd-looking poll yesteday, that has been reported on over and over and over again. Its the only one showing the trend you describe. Wait for subsequent polling before hysteria.

6. Newsweek Poll not positive for Bush
Edited on Tue Mar-30-04 01:15 PM by terisel
Newsweek Poll doesn't sound all that positive.

March 27 - Richard Clarke’s charge that George W. Bush largely ignored the Al Qaeda threat before the September 11 attacks has dealt a sharp blow to the president’s ratings on a crucial issue. According to the latest NEWSWEEK poll, the percentage of voters who say they approve of the way the president has handled terrorism and homeland security has slid to 57 percent, down from a high of 70 percent two months ago. The survey was conducted after Clarke, a former counterterrorism chief in both the Bush and Clinton administrations, testified to the 9/11 commission on Wednesday. Still, the president’s overall approval rating remains steady at 49 percent and Bush remains neck and neck with presumptive Democratic Party nominee Senator John Kerry.

....and Bush's negative ads have been running.

I think they are hoping Rice's testimony will generate positive Faux News and CNN praise. If they felt strong they wouldn't have her testify. they would just call us all commies and tell us to stuff it.

9. I just love how when Shrub has a bad week in the polls everyone says he's
toast... then when he soars, the polls are total B.S.

I think we're basically dealing with a stupid bunch of sheeple who believe whatever Faux tells them.

10. Kerry is getting hit with the negative TV ads

TV ads score big in Bush turnaround

By Susan Page, USA TODAY

WASHINGTON — A week of hearings on Capitol Hill and criticism from a former counterterrorism aide have eroded President Bush's poll standing on fighting terrorism. But that's nothing compared to the damage that Bush's campaign ads may have done to Democratic candidate John Kerry.

A USA TODAY/CNN/Gallup Poll shows a remarkable turnaround in 17 battleground states where polls and historic trends indicate the race will be close, and where the Bush campaign has aired TV ads. Those ads say Bush has provided "steady leadership in times of change" while portraying Kerry as a tax-hiking, flip-flopping liberal. (Related item: Latest poll results)

The ads have been one factor in wiping away an inflated lead Kerry held in those states. Most of them have had primaries or caucuses that allowed Democrats to dominate the news and Kerry to emerge as a victor. In a survey taken in mid-February, Kerry led Bush by 28 percentage points in those states, 63% to 35%. Now Bush leads Kerry in them by six points, 51% to 45%.

In contrast, there has been much less volatility in states where the ads haven't aired. Kerry held a four-point lead in them in February; Bush holds a two-point lead now.
