Four More Years!

Of the three candidates remaining, only one promises to be more divisive than George W. Bush. Hillary Clinton is embracing the Republican tactic of trying to fracture the solidarity of her own party to gain the nomination. Her campaign is taking on the specter of the Bush 2000 in South Carolina. In a matter of weeks she has turned my ambivalence toward her into an intense dislike. Hopefully her over-the-top desperation tactics finally will push John Edwards into a selfless endorsement of the only candidate in a position to take us in a new direction. Hillary’s dirty laundry has only been growing moldier and smellier in her years out of the White House. Her claims to being a proven warrior would be laughable if they did not bring to mind the lightning rod that she has always been for attacks from the right. The second Clinton presidency would be granted no honeymoon and the eight years we’ve gone in reverse with Bush would be followed by a further retreat from what America can and must be.
