Neither Obama, nor Clinton is ever going to say they will accept the VEEP slot at this point

The major reason is:
You look like a loser if you do.

If you expect to be the winner why would you say you'd accept being number 2.
The message you send is, "I think I may lose."

For Obama it would be just stupid to say he would.
Right now, he is winning and will probably be the winner.

For Clinton, it would totally deflate her campaign.
She has been able to stay viable because she continues to campaign like she wants to win.

It's not gonna happen anytime soon.

Once one or the other (most likely Obama) gets the nomination then we'll see what happens.
