We're just going through the motions of an election at this point..
I think there is a real possibility that Hillary will wind up being the nominee. If she does, it will be an honest and well deserved win. Obamas supporters will never believe it though, and since many of his supporters tend to fall within the 'unreliable voter' demographic anyway, I doubt we'll be seeing them at the polls. Unfortunately, without at least some of them, McCain wins.

The lions share of Hillarys support is made up of the traditional Democratic base, and without the vast majority of those votes Obama has no chance. No matter what fantasies reside within the minds of his supporters, he must have Hillarys votes, along with many Independents to even come close. He will not get enough of them. McCain has the experience, and he's close enough to a moderate for people to vote for him guilt free.

I know someone is going to carry on about the 100 years in Iraq nonsense, but that statement will be easily justified by the largest portion of the voting public. My advice at this point? Save your money for 2012, kick back and sit this one out. The race is over-McCain wins.

Obama will go down in history as this elections version of Ralph Nader. He'll be the guy who couldn't get enough votes to win, but managed to get enough support to sway what should have been inevitable. Who knows? Maybe McCain will surprise us all-but if not, perhaps Hillary will take him out in 4 years.

1. Gore had his chance in 2000
Kerry had his chance in 2004

Hillary has her chance in 2008

If Hillary is the nominee this year, I'll support her 100%.

If she doesn't win the nomination, and if McCain does win (I certainly hope he doesn't), I will be ready for a new face in 2012.

6. This gets my vote, especially if there's an "devoid of reality" disclaimer on it. nt

5. This is big talk coming from the most agressively negative primary campaign in 30 years.
Not to mention a candidate Rush Limbaugh is now actively campaigning for.

But why are you so sure that most of Hillary's supporters will not vote for him--not just the ones on this site?

7. IMO, HRC was never electable in the GE. Too many people loathe her.
Republicans loathe her.

A lot of Indys loathe her.

Quite a few Dems loathe her.

Couple that with her past and she's always been a losing proposition.

I can understand that there are a fair number of women who would like to see a female President. I'm all for that.

...but why'd they have to pick this one???

"I think there is a real possibility that Hillary will wind up being the nominee." Apparently all facts to the contrary.

"If she does, it will be an honest and well deserved win." She hasn't won, isn't close to winning - and YET, you know that should it miraculously happen, it will be "honest and well deserved". Thanks, Nostradamus. While you're at it, can you give me the winning numbers in next week's lottery?

"Since many of (Obama's) supporters tend to fall within the 'unreliable voter' demographic anyway, I doubt we'll be seeing them at the polls." And the basis for this "fact" would be what - other than something you pulled out of your own rear-end?

"The lions (sic) share of Hillarys (sic) support is made up of the traditional Democratic base." Have you included the "traditional Democratic base" that are Obama supporters? No, I didn't think so. As we all KNOW, all of Obama's supporters recently sprung, full-grown, from thin air.

"Obama will go down in history as this elections (sic) version of Ralph Nader. He'll be the guy who couldn't get enough votes to win, but managed to get enough support to sway what should have been inevitable." Ah, there it is - Hillary was "inevitable", and then some upstart came along and kicked her ass. Doesn't that, in and of itself, mean she wasn't "inevitable" after all?

"Maybe McCain will surprise us all-but if not, perhaps Hillary will take him out in 4 years." McCain won't surprise anyone - including his own party; he'll lose this election right on schedule. As for Hill running again in four years after being trounced this time around (what with being "inevitable" and all) - I have to assume you're joking.

9. Hello! jbm? Anyone there?
Don't you just hate it when somebody posts an OP, and then disappears because they can't defend it?

Don't you just hate when that happens?

10. Don't bet on it
You may be right about McCain. But Hillary has singlehandedly sunk any chance she ever had.
