I've seen a lot of Hillary supporters posting that Clinton can still win if she stay is it. That she will win if she stays in it. What I've seen very little of is serious explanations of how that is. So here:
First she can be at least rationally expected to pull off wins in remaining states: ________ by margins: _______
She can be rationally expected to perform to this level: _____ in these other remaining states: _____
This will give her a pledged delegate count going into the convention of: _____ to Obama's: ______
At this point this argument can be made to the super delegates:______________________________________________________________
... with a reasonable expectation that it will be accepted and cause them to provide her with enough support to cross the nomination threshold ahead of Obama, and Hillary will become the nominee.
Would any Clinton supporters care to fill in those blanks for me please? All of them, or don't bother. It's not like there's that many states left, it's not unreasonable to expect that people have an idea of the specifics of how they expect their candidate could win at this stage. Justify for all of us here, in clear terms, why this incredibly destructive internecine warfare should be continued at this point in the race. Feel free to be optimistic, just don't get fantastic. If you're going to propose Hillary winning PA 80-20 and sweeping all the rest of the states by 20 points just because "she will, that's why!" you're wasting everyone's time. If you're going to say she's going to go into the convention behind by over 100 pledged delegates and the super delegates are just going to give it to her anyway without explaining in convincing detail why they would think it was anything resembling a good idea to reverse the results of the pledged delegate race with their votes then you are wasting everyone's time. If you're going to say they'll give it to her because she won "Big States" like California, New York, New Jersey... accompany it with an explanation of why the super delegates think that would be important. In other words, why in the world they would think Obama would lose those states to McCain if they let him be the nominee.
Someone complained at me in another thread that Obama supporters do not listen to Hillary supporters reasons for sticking with her campaign at this point in the game.
Well, I'm listening. Let's hear it. Lay it out in fine details/ Show everyone that this continuing campaign serves some real purpose beyond just having the two most prominent Democrats in the nation right now tearing each other down while the Republican nominee preps for the GE without a care in the world.
Note to others: Anyone thinking of posting anything snarky or gloating or otherwise less than completely constructive and reasonable in response to anything a Clinton supporter says in this thread: get lost. If you want to tell anyone you think they're being unrealistic try "I think that's unrealistic, and here's why..."
If the only thing you can come up with is "That's just stupid!!! LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!" step away from your parents computer and go play in your sandbox. Come back in ten years when you're an adult. I'm sick of seeing that crap from people on both sides, and I'll jump right down your throat if you bring it into my thread.
