Is Pastor-gate a serious issue?
Is it worse than NAFTA-gate?

I thought the recent Ferraro-gate was pretty bad. Didn't see Hillary reject and denounce until it was too late.

What about pillow-gate? Obama hasn't had as much favorable press since Hillary raised the issue.

Personally I thought Xerox-gate was pretty bad. Shame on you Barack Obama.

We'll see how far Pastor-gate can go. Obama needs to reject and denounce ASAP.

2. Not an issue for Obama. For anyone else maybe, not BO.
Obama could murder an infant on live TV and anyone who objected would be raked across the coals as a bigotted maggot who hates change.

6. That's because, like Reagan and the Big Dawg, he is made of teflon...

I know you're jealous, because your candidate is made out of two-way duct tape.

Don't hate him because he's successful.

15. I don't hate him at all. I love Obama. I would love to see him
elected president in the future, but if he is elected long before he has the experience and gravitas needed to succeed, he will only injure progressivism.

Its a shame that none of his "followers" care enough for him to tell himn the truth.

3. Don't forget ...
"rezko-gate", "muslim-robe-wearing-gate", and the new one "gate-gate"; heard he left the gate of his house open, and his dog ran out, michelle wasn't too pleased about THAT one

4. I haven't seen a candidate, ever, whose pastor I liked or trusted
So it is hard for me to see it as an issue. The same crap was to come up if Romney was the GOP nominee. Fundies have "had the reins" for some time, and have made little difference - we do have an actual separation of church and state that seems to work, and I think most people are comfortable with it, and with someone's pastor being a bit whacked.

Personally I don't care, and I can't see most people caring other than for the entertainment factor. Wright is a kick to watch...

5. No.
It's a complete bullshit issue, despite the panicked protestations to the contrary.

On the plus side, it puts the kybosh on all the "he's a muslim" rumors.

19. Fuck 'em.
We always knew that people would race bait against Obama in order to get out the racist white vote.

In fact, Clinton supporters kept reminding us about it before they started doing it.

It's a non-issue.

26. Excuse me? I was offended by the fact he accused basically all white people
of being racist. I happen to be white. I never attack anyone for how they were born. I don't expect to be attacked either and will be offended when I am.

Tough to make math work without PA, OH, MI, WI and IA...and probably all of them.

10. It will be an issue, the RW will make it so
I already got an e-mail about this a few weeks ago. Someone told me that I should "check out" who I was supporting. Obama will need to reject the anti-white rhetoric before it goes ballistic.

11. I think it's a BIG deal
Personally I don't think it's important, but it will be a HUGE issue if Obama doesn't defuse it properly. And he hasn't so far.

The Republicans will be playing up the Obama hates white people, Obama is a trojan horse for radical ideas angle, to make mainstream white voters uncomfortable with him and view him as some kind of an alien. And this gives them more grist for the mill.

20. He already came out against it in January and then again last month.
Do you really expect Obama to say something about this issue every time someone, somewhere, brings it up?

It already doesn't seem to have legs, as no one is talking about it today. So why borrow trouble?

about his pastor, sharpton, jesse and other things that relate to blacks and I knew the closer we got to the nomination these and other things would be used against Obama. I was for Hillary then and back then the media was unfair to her but now it is too late, the people around her are playing any card they can because they don't want obama to win..I don't think that obama needs to denounce anything so what will he denounce everything he says and never talk to him for the rest of his life. Bush hasn't denounce a damn thing and flauts it in our faces just as McSame does...

21. As an Obama supporter I am somewhat concerned
about the "preacher issue" after hearing the audio of some of his speeches, although I don't associate his remarks with anything having to do with Obama. I would also point out that if Obama gets the nomination then the Right will have a difficult time using this against him, because then all the Obama people have to do is play audio clips of that lunatic Rod Parsley, who is one of McCain's "spiritual advisors." It's really debatable which one sounds crazier.

27. The link to the "Reverend's" comments.

I don't understand how Clinton can be bashed over Ferraro's statements resulting in her denunciation of a woman who has never had a racist bone in her body but Obama can proceed without denouncing this pastor- unless he agrees with the pastor, in which case I'd like to know.
