WSJ/NBC 3/13 Poll: Clinton leads Obama nationally among Democratic voters 47 percent to 43 percent

3/13/2008 12:06:31 AM Arizona Sen. John McCain, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, is in a statistical dead-heat when put in head-to-head match-ups with his two prospective Democratic opponents, a Wall Street Journal/NBC News Poll indicates.

In a general election contest, Democrat Barack Obama, the junior senator from Illinois, leads McCain 47 percent to 44 percent, the poll found. In a match-up between McCain and Democrat Hillary Clinton, the New York senator led McCain 47 percent to 45 percent.

In the Democratic race for the party's nomination, Clinton leads Obama nationally among Democratic voters 47 percent to 43 percent, the poll found.

The poll of 1,012 registered voters was conducted March 7 to 10. It had a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.

9. In This Poll 48% Believe Obama Most Electable

but only 38% of the respondents to this poll think Clinton is more electable. And in the end there is only one poll that counts: the voters. Obama leads in the popular vote, leads in pledged delegates, leads in money raised, leads in number of donors, leads in number of primaries won, leads in number of caucus' won.

And he's led in this race from day one. A lead never relinquished, never overturned.
