Keith Olbermann is an arrogant ego maniac....
Who does this guy think he is? HE decides what is right and wrong? What needs to be done?

Maybe he should worry more about his ratings than being omnipotent about every issue in the world.

14. Its not so much that he has an opinion.
Its that he has the audacity to let everyone know what it is.

On his nightly political current events talk show, no less. What nerve!

Some of the white kids don't go to college. Not bad kids mind you but you knew that. Some of the "minority" kids don't and some do...not bad kids eithe. By the way nobody is a "majority" in my neighborhood so we are ALL minorities.

But you know everything...and NOVA? The South? Yeah, you didn't do a study on jack.

19. Just can't see Olbermann having a beer or changing his oil.....
He would need some expensive beer with a name hard to pronounce. Wonder if he ever has changed his oil in his car? Would be know how? Ever cut his grass? Ever sweated even?

Do I like some of his views? Yes. No doubt.

But, the guy is a typical elitist softie. Arrrrrggg!!!!

42. Like this makes a difference?
It doesn't really make a difference.

I stopped changing the oil in my car when I realized I could spend my time doing other things - things that didn't require me laying on my back under a car getting dirty. And nowadays changing the oil or doing anything to a car takes someone who knows what they're doing.

If you had the chance, I would bet you would prefer not being uncomfortable and sweating.

As to beer - well, there's beer and there's beer- that's kind of like arguing over sports teams and I'm not going down that path.

And we've had eight years of a guy who's most definitely not an elitist and that's worked out really well, hasn't it?

I'd prefer someone who uses $25 words and knows what they mean than the guy who uses $0.05 ones and doesn't know jack.

Yeah, I'm an elitist. We need more. The "Myth" of the uneducated "Salt of the Earth" guy is just that, a myth. If you're not educated there's that whole "burn withches at the stake" thing or the "suicide bomber" thing or "The Earth is 6000 years old, flat and the sun revolves around it" thing.

My husband only drinks expensive beer with names hard to pronounce. Of course, my husband, a certified Master Mechanic, knows how to change oil--and engines, for that matter. I'm sorry, but I think you have a strange notion of what makes a person an "elitist softie". And it also implies that blue collar workers cannot be people who enjoy the finer things in life, which I find unfortunate.

21. His ratings are terrific- and there are many of us who are in agreement with his words-
If you are not happy with his commentary, feel free to change the channel or- turn off your television. For those of us who cheer his "Special Comments" and welcome hearing his words of wisdom, he's a breath of fresh air after so many years of being bombarded by the right wing media spin. In fact, until very recently- in fact, until Keith demonstrated that progressive values can be profitable- remember- it was MSNBC that cancelled Phil Donohoe because he was too liberal (and against the Iraq war). That was after demanding that he have two conservative (or was it three?) guests to every liberal guest. I, for one am thrilled that we are able to have Keith Olbermann's voice loud and clear, on t.v.- I only wish they would put him on a national station since not everyone has cable...

22. I think that reporters need to express their opinions more often
And also state their biases publicly. It would be better for the country overall, imho. Their attempts to be objective don't work as a practical matter, since few people think they actually are (and people are often so subjective that they can't tell what is objective and what isn't).

It's when he(Olbermann) was only trashing the Rethugs and not a possible Democratic nominee. How stupid of him to take sides like this before the nominee is chosen. 68. The measurement I would use
is the fact that Hillary has won the majority of large, heterogeneous former "blue states";whereas, Obama has won states than will most likely never go Democratic in the Fall election. And, his winning of the caucus states like Wyoming where there was a spread of just 2,000+ votes is not impressive. The recent election in Mississippi (29% white vote for Obama)shows perhaps a trend that he will not pick up the white votes in many states. I agree, that Wisconsin, Iowa, and Minnesota dispels that theory. However, I attribute that to his excellent campaign organization. When the Swift boaters start to run those political ads that have Wright blaming 9-11 on ourselves; and saying "God damn America", well there goes hundreds of thousands of independent and Reagan-democratic votes down the toilet. The Bradley effect unfortunately will take hold in that polling booth. If Obama wins the popular vote counting Florida; then, he probably should be the nominee. Screw the number of undemocratic caucus states he has won. That isn't a good representation of the Democratic electorate's choice for our nominee. The popular vote is a much better "metric" of who should be the nominee. I know these last words will come back to haunt me,eh. :>) P.S. remember, it ain't over until the fat lady sings!

As an ex-viewer of Countdown, I agree with you 100%. He is sort of a back-stabber for having Hillary on his show when she just announced her running for the Democratic nominee. Why didn't the chicken-shit confront her on her vote for using force in Iraq at that time? What's happen since that interview? Did he get the word from Russert and the NBC executives to trash the Clintons? Or was he afraid to confront Tweety on his nasty. misogynist remarks? Perhaps they have the same philosophy about uppity women?
