Everyone needs to stop panicking.
Since PastorGate broke, the smell of flop-sweat around here has been making my eyes water. The panicked hyperventilating. The insane screeching. If we nominate Obama, we'll die. If we nominate Hillary, the party will be destroyed. And so on.

This has been a long primary season, and it's going to go on longer, so everyone is getting fatigued and nerves are getting frayed. This is understandable. But the doomsday scenarios I keep reading here are just fucking stupid.

So let me tell you exactly what's going to happen. It's like this: We'll pick a candidate, and we'll go up against McCain, and if we play our cards right, we'll win.

Obama and Clinton both have their negatives and their positives. Whichever one of them gets the nomination, if they're halfway competent, will run a good campaign against McCain. I personally think Hillary hasn't run her campaign very well up to now, but if she were to get the nomination, I wouldn't be surprised if she got rid of the dead weightthat's been fucking her up (it rhymes with Park Menn). I think Obama has run a very strong campaign. So either way, we'll enter the general election with a lot on our side. Neither situation is ideal. Neither situation is perfect. But I think, as Hillary said, we'll be fine. The Republicans are surgically attached in voters' minds to an unpopular war, a tanking economy, and a special needs president. Any Democrat with half a brain should be able to crush them in November as long as they don't let the Republicans frame the debate or dictate the issues.

Look at this picture of my cat, Captain Wacky:

Take a lesson from him. He worries about nothing. Why? Because it's useless. So stop worrying, support your candidate to the best of your ability, and do what you think is the best thing to do. But stop worrying. It's not going to help you, your candidate, my cat, or anyone else.

Not THAT critter, that's who.

And PS, everyone is panicking. Look at the threads. The last time I read so many doomsday scenarios was right before Y2K.

6. I like the statement "They are halfway competent" I prefer to think that McCain is INCOMPETENT
McCain is also 71 years old and may not even make it to the election.

We are in very good shape in my opinion.

The money is rolling in, Bush is a mill stone around the repugs necks, and the Americans want a change from what the republicans have been cramming down our throats.

I want to vote for Obama, but I will still vote for who ever we put up from the convention.

30. Jeremiah Wright would have included a Bible verse
Matthew 6: 34 "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will worry about it's own things, Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."

What are fundies gonna say about that. At some point, after this scandal gets hyped, Jerry Wright will go on Oprah, and show himself to be smart and charming, and make the Republican attack machine look like the morans they are to an audience of multi-millions.

Failing that, how about a youtube link?
