Chicago Tribune: Obama prepares for full assault on Clinton
Edited on Sun Mar-16-08 10:48 AM by FLDem5
The two major attacks on Obama have been Rezko and Wright.

He put both of them to bed on the same day, Friday. They apparantly have nothing else on him. He also released his earmarks going all way back to '05. Its all out there. Transparent.

He just plowed the road.

PLAINFIELD, Ind. - Sen. Barack Obama is trying to air his dirty laundry -- even some items that might appear just a little wrinkled -- as he prepares a full assault on Sen. Hillary Clinton over ethics and transparency.

<snip>
With a gap between campaign contests, Obama is trying to unload controversies. On Friday he held extended conversations with the Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times about his longtime relationship with indicted developer and fundraiser Antoin "Tony" Rezko.

The Illinois Democrat is also expected to make public his tax returns for several years before 2006, documents he previously has provided to the Tribune and other news organizations.

Clinton, who appeared Saturday in two St. Patrick's Day parades in Pennsylvania, has said she will release her post-White House tax returns in mid-April, perhaps just ahead of the April 22 Pennsylvania primary.

Expect it to be all taxes, all donors, all White House papers, all the time.

Both are intelligent and both are fighters.

It's an embarrassment of riches.

15. Obama has shown us that he is an inspirational leader...
...and an intelligent, talented candidate who can unite our country and
usher in a new era of politics.

We get that.

Now, he needs to demonstrate that he can kick major ass by taking Hillary
to the cleaners and delivery a few knock-out punches. He doesn't need to
do this with personal attacks or vitriol. It can be done by bringing up
the truth about Hillary.

Obama needs to show us that he is not afraid to take on Hillary--and call her
on the carpet for these issues. She should have released her tax returns long
ago, as well as those White House records that are still under lock and key.

She should be called out for her divisive, empty, negative campaigning--and
Obama needs to spell out that Hillary's campaign is a direct testament to
how she will run the nation---not very well and with a lot of divisive, vitriol.

Go to it, Obama.

48. Oh I wouldn't say that..If you go back in time..and look at the Obama that started
his campaign with the promise of running a clean campaign and being a "pure" unaffected neophyte in the ways of DC politics and looking at him today; he's hardly recognizable as the same candidate who announced his new politics in February 07'. If anything, his campaign has demonstrated he is not a man of his word and never tried from the outset to affect a change in the way politics are handled at election time. He threw the first punch at Senator Clinton with his campaign's offensive Punjab comments when Sen Clinton received the endorsement of the Indian community.

I guess people see what they want to see when it benefits their agenda.. BTW have you voted in my poll?

49. Don't be fooled about HC releasing her tax returns on Apr. 15th
She's given that date because it will allow her to postpone their release one more time, due to some unexpected issues, pushing their release just beyond the PA primary. That's where I'm putting my money, anyway.
