So If Edwards Ends Up Endorsing OBAMA
how will your tunes change Clinton people? Will you all go back and start calling him a "pretty boy" again and mocking his $400 haircut AGAIN, like you hypocrites did a few months ago? I was here, I can read, I am a LONG TIME Edwards supporter who switched to Obama because Barack Obama better reflects Edwards' style and substance. You watch Obama supporters-WATCH, and mark my words on what they will do and how they will all turn like bitter snakes if Edwards supports Obama...this morning he was their new hero, but what if this story is wrong? I will say this I will NOT in any way disparage John or Elizabeth Edwards REGARDLESS of who they endorse-take the pledge Obama people because we already KNOW that the Clinton supporters here won't do the same

3. He's pretty much his own man and does his own thinking.
I believe he'll hold the central principles of his domestic agenda first and foremost before he makes any decision about an endorsement.

10. John Edwards can endorse either candidate or none. No need to insult him.
As someone once said, "we can disagree without being disagreeable."

Not promoting Obama.

It was clearly know here that the Obama people saw Edwards as "hurting" Obama.

They made it job #1 to trash him.

15. Why is it then that most Edwards supporters on DU who switched after he left race
like me, went for Obama if the Obama people were so bad to him? As I recall it there were culprits in both camps but then as now the most vicious in attacking any of Hillary's opponents were the HRC people.

28. Not this Edwards supporter... but as we all know, many who post here are not actually
"genuine" DUers, but rather posters here with a personal campaign agenda. They'll be gone after we have a nominee. It's cyclical like that.

Search, bookmark, all useful tools to discern genuine from fake, members from sock-puppets, everyday people from provocateurs. :)

14. your OP is insulting and presumes too much.
First, there's the straw man that Edwards will endorse Obama. There's no evidence that he'll endorse anyone, but there's a rumor that he'll endorse...er..Clinton. Not Obama.

Fake hypothetical: That "Clinton people" all supposedly were Edwards supporters (at least, that's how I'm reading your rather incoherent OP).

Second straw man: That Clinton supporters who were Edwards supporters (ALL of them, according to the OP) will turn against Edwards if he supports Obama.

Now, after all that, I will say: I supported Edwards and always will. I still support his agenda. For president, I'm not supporting Hillary. Edwards has the perfect right to endorse whomever he wants (or no one), and I support that right, too.

So much for what you "KNOW", SoFlaJet.

16. This former Edwards supporter now a Clinton supporter will not trash
Edwards if he decided to endorse Obama. It will not change my vote for Hillary. I still feel that John Edwards would have been a great president and he will always have my respect. I just came from a thread where their was a rumor that Edwards might support Hillary and it disgusted me the vile hate spewed by some of the Obama supporters. Sorry to burst your bubble but I think Clinton supporters have more class than some of the Obama supporters I have seen here on DU.

17. I agree with golddigger
Obama supporters are vile. I also was a Edwards supporter & am now with Hillary. Myself I think the reason why a lot of the Edwards people went to Obama is because they are men who cannot support a woman as president. Or just plain Clinton haters. I would not hold it against Edwards if he decided to endorse Obama, it is his choice not mine. I will always respect his right to his decision.

21. I don't claim to be an expert on Edwards' style + substance, but isn't Hillary more similar?
On substance, it seems that HRC and Edwards' positions are similar (such as universal health care vs. market reforms that won't work, freeze on forclosures vs. market reforms that won't work, real energy reform vs. voting for Cheney's energy bill, etc.).

On style, I think Hillary and Edwards are even closer. Hillary realizes that disagreement has been for thousands of years and will always be a part of politics and political science, and that Democrats need to fight Republicans to actually get real change (as opposed to the insurance companies and their representatives magically coming together and self-regulating, or similar fantasies).

What do you see in Obama that is more similar to Edwards than Hillary?

23. Um, I donated hard earned money to Edwards, he is from my home state
just because he would endorse Obama does not mean I would turn against him. I have not turned against anyone for their endorsements. I still think just fine of Kerry, and Kennedy. Dean I have started to lose some faith in, but not for a percieved bias against Hillary. Opinions are opinions, everyone has them.

How high and mighty of you to assume what I would do. You know just as well that many Obama supporters have stabbed the backs of those who don't agree with them on Obama and to pretend like you do not know this is nothing more than a glaring example of partisanship on your part. Note that I said "many" Obama supporters and did not try and group ALL Obama supporters into the same club.

To be perfectly frank, I've always liked Elizabeth more than John. But he campaigned well, and with dignity, and his opinion should carry some weight.
