I'm pretty sure my state (MA) will stay the same, as far as Reps. & Senators.

How about your state?

Any difficult races between Dems and Rethugs?

Any Dino's being challenged by a Progressive?

1. Mine will..
Senator Mark Udall from Colorado, fresh after defeating a snake oil salesman by the name of Bob Schaeffer. Mallard finally fucking retires.

Replacing 2nd District is a pretty good primary going on....

No hope of replacing Musgrave or Lamborn though.

But Udall is from Boulder and will bring a breath of fresh air...

9. CA here.
Boxer and Feinstein aren't up for re election. My congresscritter is Barbara Lee. She's win with 80% of the vote.

Doolittle's Repug seat could go Dem but probably not. THey could run a lava rock as a Repug and win.

And I don't think Cindy Sheehan has a snowballs chance in hell of beating Nancy Pelosi.

All congress is up for re-election this year.

Every single seat, all 435 of them.

Maybe Charlie Brown will give the GOP a run for their money. He came close last time but he was running against scumbag Doolittle. They've got a new guy now who probably doesn't have the baggage Doolittle has.

Easton -

All three of Easton’s state representatives and its two state senators have taken out papers for reelection in November as of Thursday, March 6.

State Rep. Christine Canavan, D-Brockton and David Flynn, D-Bridgewater are currently running unopposed for their respective posts, said Brian McNiff, elections spokesman for Secretary of State William Galvin’s office.

State Rep. Geraldine Creedon, D-Brockton, could be opposed by

Alejandro Franch, who does not have a party affiliation and has taken out papers, said McNiff.

Easton’s Democratic state Sen. Brian Joyce and Robert S. Creedon Jr. are all currently unopposed.

ARE THE TWO CREEDON'S RELATED?

Canavan serves the 10h Plymouth District, which consists of precinct 3, in Easton, in Bristol County; and precincts B and C of ward 4, precincts B, C and D of ward 5 and all precincts of ward 6, in the city of Brockton, and the town of West Bridgewater. Both towns are located in Plymouth County.

The 11th Plymouth District is served by Creedon and consists of precincts 1, 2, 4 and 5, in Easton, of Bristol county; and precincts A and C of ward 1, precinct A of ward 2, and all precincts of ward 7, in the city of Brockton, in Plymouth. County.

Flynn serves the Eighth Plymouth District, consisting of precinct 6, in Easton, and the town of Raynham, both in Bristol County; and the town of Bridgewater, in Plymouth County.

Or do I go for the less radical, but still liberal and very effective, Speaker of the Oregon House.

I'm sure the 5th and 2nd will be tough fights again - they always are. But both Courtney and Murphy (love him!) are tough fighters.

John Larson and Rosa De Lauro should be able to coast right in again.

Edited on Sun Mar-16-08 09:00 PM by Hippo_Tron
Due to population shifts from Katrina and years of corruption from the Democratic establishment we're in deep shit down here. I'll probably be volunteering for Mary Landrieu at some point. I realize that she doesn't have a great voting record but you get some perspective when you see the Republicans that they put up against her. Her first opponent in '96 carried around a plastic fetus to all of his rallies and her opponent in 2002 proclaimed during the debate that Landrieu had "lost her Catholicism". The people that the Republicans run against her generally aren't fit to be dog catcher let alone US Senator.

Plus Landrieu will do a better job advocating for New Orleans than any Republican and that's fairly important post Katrina. Our other Senator David "Madam's list" Vitter is already neutralized as it is.

56. My family was very very lucky, our area didn't flood
And everything was back to normal for us shortly after the storm. I'm worried about the future of the city, though. We have enough problems as it is and having to deal with a President that could care less certainly doesn't help. The entire reconstruction process has been divisive over race/class lines and I think that's really unfortunate.

I don't believe that the Bush Administration is involved in a conspiracy to drive out the city's African American population but given their criminal negligence, they might as well be. I'm not a huge fan of Bill Clinton or of many of the things he did in office but I feel like if this had happened under his watch, we would be a hell of a lot better off. I'm hoping the next President will be able to do some good before it's too late.

I'm positive a Dem. President would not have let what happened happen at all. I think as soon
as we take over the complete Senate (with a majority 5+) and the WH; N.O. and Mississippi will
see much more help on the way. Bush doesn't care about anyone except himself.

Senator will be tough. We're hoping to keep Nick Lampson in DeLay's old seat. Around the state, we might pick up a congressional seat or two.

Most importantly, we have some strong down-ticket statewide democrats who have a chance.
