The State Department says the perpetrators wanted to look at the passports of famous........
people, but why was Obama's the only one that seems to have been looked at?

Why wouldn't they look at Edward's, Clinton's, McCain's, or anyone else's?

4. I woulld look at Teller's from Penn and Teller. He's one of only six people who have a passport....
issued with no last name. It just says Teller, I'd be curious to see what that looks like.

3. uhh...sometimes that first excuse just doesn't work out....
has scottie mcclellan resurfaced to handle crisis-control at the state department?

even dana p. would have come up with a more plausible (but surely equally-flawed) 'explanation' of the perps activities....

this will only get better...

16. What I'm saying is, who ever told the press about Obama's passport,,,,,,,,,
be breached would have also told the press about other passport records being breached.

The WT broke the story, but they said they didn't get their information from the Obama campaign.

22. Yes, the DoS did catch the breach themselves, but I'm pretty sure they didn't tip off the press.....
with an official statement. If it came from within the DoS, it was leaked.

28. Makes sense that it would be Obamas camp. His files were breeched
and public awareness about that is good, and it changes the narrative of the talking heads.

7. We don't know that they didn't look at other visas
The public would not be notified of chich celebrity visas these contractors might have seen. It is big news only because a presidental candidate is involved. Celebrities would no doubt have been contacted privately and nothing would have made the papers.

12. The IRS has been known to have similar problems
with its employees.

At some point in the mid-90s, the IRS fired several employees for accessing OJ Simpsons tax history. Some people just can't keep their curiosity in check.

14. The short answer is it's just an excuse they're using right now
based on the bosses of those people fired. Not through an investigation of any sort.

19. I'm going to guess that this is false, because...
a) It's coming from the State Department

and

b) Why would they publicly speculate on an investigation in-progress? They're covering their own ass, here.

I'll bet cash money we never see the truth.

I think it was a reporter who bribed some underlings in an attempt to do some investigative reporting.
