Sweeping generalizations about each other
Do those who support Hillary Clinton have any idea how sick some of us of sweeping generalizations about Obama supporters? I've done my level best to avoid making any statements about people who support HRC and I've tried to be fair to both candidates. So how do you think I feel when I'm lumped in with those who are calling you names and baiting you? My ire has been peaked a few times when I've read these sweeping generalizations about us -- I've avoided temptation and moved on without responding or retaliating.

Do those who support Obama have any idea how sick some of us are of sweeping generalizations about Clinton supporters? HRC supporters are supporting a Democratic candidate and that's all I care about. Yes, some of them are rude jackasses but guess what -- so are some Obama supporters.

Neither side is doing their candidate any favors by pissing off those who support the opposing candidate. Every time I read an inflammatory post about Obama, particularly one that characterizes all of us as being the same kind of person posting the same kinds of things, it reflects not just on you the inflammatory poster but on your candidate. And the same is true of Obama supporters.

You want your candidate to win? Then treat other people respectfully, either skip inflammatory posts or refuse to jump into the gutter with that person, and choose to play like adults rather than 3rd grade bullies.

Thanks to all of those on both sides who do NOT do this and who actually post something that educates rather than fans fires.

2. Yep, anyone calling any group "typical" is a fool bigot.
It's the kind of thing a typical politician would say.

4. Here Here!!!!!!
Thank you, I agree 1000%.

I also want to add that I am sick on ANY sweeping generalization...i.e. all white people are racist, all black people are mad, all Christians are stupid.

I was thinking of posting something similar to what you wrote, so thank you for saving me the time.

5. I am with you.
If you are so fired up about your candidate, and you believe fervently that they are the best one for the job, instead of hurling broad brush insult at supporters of the other candidate, log off the DU and do something to that productively supports your own candidate. Phone bank or raise money, something, because simply hurling insults at people who do not support your candidate *hurts* your candidate. You are a surrogate for your candidate on this board. People judge your candidate, fairly or unfairly, by your conduct.

6. Your post is no fun at all.
If you don't encourage mudslinging, you won't get more than a few recommendations...beyond mine.

Thanks!
