Why is Obama not asking for money but Hillary is?
I belong to both Hillary and Obamas campaigns emails lists.

Hillary has sent me multiple emails asking for money in the last couple of weeks.

Obama has sent none.

How is it that the well organized, popular, politicaly connected Clintons need to ask for money and Obama is getting all he needs without asking?

I am serious, why would the Clintons not have all they need? And Obama went through a hard couple of weeks and still didn't ask for money.

Since the Democratic vote seems to be 50/50 between them now I would assume they both would have the same number of money donors.

Any idea why? Are Obama voters more motivated? Has Hillary tapped out $2300 donors already?

2. I thought I got a fundraising appeal from Obama's campaign recently
But there have been surprisingly few lately, and I have been wondering about that. A lot of the e-mails I have gotten had a different ask, such as phone banking or sharing the YouTube video of his speech. I've been a little worried about how he's been doing with fundraising, but the lack of constant fundraising e-mails is somewhat comforting.

11. That's passive.... he's not sending out any mailers or emails asking......

Having a button available for those that want to donate is not the same as making phone calls or emails asking for money.

His supporters are self-motivated to donate. So he doesn't need to pester them.

Hillary's broke... and most of her donors have maxed out at $2300..... so she's milking the few who haven't for as much as she can.

6. um, ive gotten a few from obama...
just got this today..

-snip-
Make a donation in any amount between now and 11:59 pm EDT on Monday, March 31st, and you could join Barack and three other supporters for an intimate dinner for five.

Can you support this campaign with a donation of $25 today?

Our movement is changing the way campaigns are funded.

This campaign has never taken contributions from Washington lobbyists or political action committees.

7. HIllary has loaned herself $5 million of her own money and $10 million of her Senate
Campaign money. She is in debt, with bills to pay, and somehow continue a campaign.

Obama keeps raking it in. Nearing 2 million donors, probably another $50 million in March.

23. I get those too - they're just not Specific - DONATE e-mails.
I noticed that they rarely send those out. More often than not, it's news updates - followed up with a request to donate.

not so much, HEY - We're broke, she's outspending us, etc.

16. Sigh...this is another blunder on Hillary's campaign planning
She focused on the big fat $$$$$ donars and not the grass roots in the beginning and she has been playing catch up ever sense.

I can't understand such poor initial planning and mitigation planning (what if our plan doesn't work)

I voted for her in the WA caucus but I simply don't get how the hell they screwed this up.

19. The Latte Elite...
Obama is supported by the Latte Elite, rich or upper middle class, white liberals who think "it would be good to see a black President." They are putting their money where their identity politics are. Hillary is a woman of the people, a champion for the working class, a fighter for those who can't write big checks or spend their day drooling at a rally chanting "change" and "hope".

24. Excuse me? I'm a nurse, not a stockbroker or CEO. Last time I checked I
wasn't part of the "Elite" no matter what they are drinking. Actually, Hillary is more a member of that class than I am.
I can't write big checks and I'm not drooling over anyone. :eyes:

20. After several bad political investements in 2004
I was going to wait until we had a nominee to get my checkbook out. On Saturday I attended an Obama town hall meeting. It occurred to me that not having him on the ballot in November would be a wasted opportunity. I went home and donated on line. I plan to make regular donations until I reach the individual limit. In his speech, he never once asked for financial help.
