New Louisiana Pres poll
Edited on Sat Jun-05-04 12:37 AM by King of New Orleans
By Marketing Research Institute of Pensacola, FL (head pollster--Vern Kennedy). Poll commissioned by "businessmen around the state"

Bush 48
Kerry 42
Undecided 10

A March poll by the same firm had Bush with a 10 point lead.

Here's a link to the AP story:

Personally, I think the state depends on who the Cajuns end up voting for, and I have no clue what their thinking, aside from not paying much attention so far.

1. Bush can't get over 50 in the south against a Massachusettes Democrat
Edited on Sat Jun-05-04 12:38 AM by JI7
in some of these southern states, notice bush can't get over 50 percent even if the opponent is a masschusettes democrat. and add in all those kerry being a left wing commie nut case liberal ads they have spent millions on. says a lot about bush.

2. Damn, if 80% of the undecided goes to the challenger as usual
we may end up taking Louisiana too. How bad could this rout get for *?

3. Yeesh... it'd still be slim.
It'd be 50-50; decided by just a few votes.

Maybe the Veep choice will help here. I think either Clark or Edwards might have plenty of appeal in Louisiana.

5. recent polls have
Bush under 50% in these southern states: Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Louisiana,Florida and West Virginia--this is a very good sign. It means that Bush is going to have to use time and money to secure his base and the possibility of Kerry picking up a couple are probably good.

6. We should take Louisiana, but I have a feeling we won't...
Every statewide office except Secretary of State is occupied by a democrat as well as both houses of the legislature by quite sizeable margains. Not to mention that the economy sucks here. Unfortunately, Kerry isn't from the south which may put him at a disadvantage.
