In July The Pernice Brothers will play three shows for Kerry. These are expected to be the only shows of the year, following an extensive tour last year and preparation for a new record in 2005.
If you live in the New York area, or in Massachusetts, you might want to attend one or all of these three shows.
If you are not familiar with the group, it is the power pop combo of Joe Pernice, who has recorded LPs under his own name, the aforementioned Pernice Brothers, Big Tobacco, and Chappaquiddick Skyline. His first recordings came in the band Scud Mountain Boys, which had to have been the softest band to ever record for Subpop.

http://www.pernicebrothers.com/index_flash.phpJoe does a great show. His live set is faithful to the LPs - look for the occasional Joy Division or New Order cover.
He has written a book just published on the topic of Morrisey/The Smiths, Meat is Murder.
Please note that all profits from these three shows will benefit Victory for Kerry 2004.
