6. Maybe so, but it would be the first time

in my memory (dating back to the early 1950's) that a candidate had announced a running mate so ridiculously far in advance of the convention.

The VP announcement is the very LAST time prior to the late July convention that Kerry can be guaranteed of the spotlight. When he makes this announcement, EVERYONE will be talking about it. Its the best thing that can happen to him and to totally WASTE it in June is incomprehensible. No one but fruitcakes like us are paying any attention right now; if Kerry announces next week, it will be buried and "ancient" news by the convention.

The vice presidential nominee will be announced either a few days before the convention, or (preferably) at the convention. How the F**k else can the man make NEWS?

Why should he blow the ONLY major decision he has to make now? Why should he lose the press attention? Its his only real chance to get attention, and you want it to be buried in June when NO ONE IS PAYING ANY ATTENTION?

Give the man TIME.

I agree with Rowdyboy. Why would he waste such a big announcement now? His poll numbers are up and once Reagan is finally in the ground, Bush is going to be in the fire again for all the shit that's coming out.

At this point, I doubt it will be before the convention.

but it's comming soon, and I believe it will be around the 4th of july for some odd reason.
