Bitter-Gate Helps Obama. Book it.
Obama admits their pain. Clinton congratulates them on taking Washington's shaft like a man.

PAs are proud and won't openly ask for help. But in a private voting booth, they will embrace the person who understands how they feel and offers them help.

The guns and religion aspect of the quote is ripe for misrepresentation but in the GE I think Obama is going to hammer hard the GOP tactic of getting people to vote against their interests using wedge issues.

24. Spot on
I thought the same thing. I said to myself --- Oh! He's pissed!

I think this will end up winning the election for him. Hill and bill are out there waving the bitterness flags today and it will all fly back into their faces next week!

26. You know this subject will be the first question in their debate. He is ready for it.
There is a lot of anger about the Bush** administration and NAFTA in PA. Should be interesting.

13. Interestingly, at the same time....
When they try this angle, it just gives Obama the stage to impress, and gain support.

I like Obama with the fire in his belly.

9. and when for the next week
He comes out and says, see I told you so, the Washington insiders don't know anything about your problems, they think everything is swell, and you just need to work harder....

They they go. Whoops.

Hillary could have easily used it to say "but my plans are better, etc.. etc..", but nope. She wants to tell everybody that everything's fine. When I drive through PA everybody is smiling and having a great ol' time on the great things that are about to happen.

The economy is going to be the worst in 50 years, and people are losing their houses, but everybody's looking forward to tomorrow.

him on this. It shows THEM to be completely out of touch, not him.

Hillary hasn't learned that when she throws
mud it comes back at her as a hardened brick.

All her nefarious plots and phrase twists have backfired.
And she is still losing. Quite deservedly.

16. is there any way this could have been leaked
by the Obama camp? I mean it's a Friday news dump and raises IN issues a lot of things that Barack needs to be talking about to the people of small town America...could they have been that smart? Could Mr and Mrs 109 million really take claim to being little people? This is right in Obama's wheelhouse...that Indiana YouTube above is Barack swinging for the fences on a 2-0 fastball

Edited on Sat Apr-12-08 10:19 AM by CakeGrrl
Obama has to know by now that the Clinton campaign's first and only reaction is to attack whatever he says (with a lot of help from a bored media hooked on controversy). It's all she seems to have left.

It wouldn't take much to dangle the carrot and get her (and bonus points for McCain) to jump. Then he has the perfect excuse to rebut their attacks with the dirt on their own policies and voting record.

I'd really like to believe it was planned - that he's got their number and is playing them like fiddles.

PA is coming up. What better time to talk the truth about lost jobs and NAFTA and the candidate who really backed it? Is the Clinton campaign inept or desperate enough to push this issue?

22. War for truth and the war against spin
With Obama it is well and truly engaged. Every word, every strong statement or opinion will be taken out of context, put into a stupid sound bite and "analyzed" to distraction. Whereas Clinton, who best can be defended as the more practiced victim currently under too much pressure from losing, flounders from indefensible gaffes trying to use mere shrugs.

Obama has to get through the loons to directly address the American people. The shrill fractured peanut gallery of jeering hobgoblins and minor demons has to be put in stark contrast to a genuine "communicator" and leader of the people. Regardless of the content, which matters less than nothing except as the barbs sink home and provoke fear among various self-styled elites, this by itself is one of the prime battlefields and debates of campaign 2008.
