It looks like New Yorkers will welcome the chimp to NYC with a big Bronx Cheer. The latest Quinnipiac Poll gives Bush a 36% approval rating in the state--the lowest of his presidency with 58% disapproving.

Kerry would beat Bush by 18-points 52-34 with Ralph Nader getting 7%

Chuck Schumer seems a shoo-in for re-election leading Howard Mills 63-14 percent and 8% for conservative party candidate Marilyn O' Grady.

Oneida County, Utica/Rome area. Quite a few Kerry stickers here and there, along with ABB, Vote Bush Out, etc. Of course, I live in Clinton, where lots of liberals live. The rural parts of Oneida County resemble Alabama, only with colder weather. Nevertheless, there isn't much enthusiasm for Bush in cow country.

If the GOP sponsored labor problems in Boston keep up the two conventions may be a wash with neither party scoring points.

Boston is a terrible choice for the Dem convention it is just too crowded to handle a event of this size. Plus the large blue collar population is going to look for some major recognition.

Mind you I love both Boston and NYC having lived in both places but they really are terrible choices for the conventions.
