New ABC News/Washington Post poll: Kerry 48 Bush 44
This is a good one, folks! Bush no longer has the terror advantage!

"Public anxiety over mounting casualties in Iraq and the doubts about long-term consequences of the war continue to rise and have helped to erase President Bush's once-formidable advantage over Sen. John F. Kerry on who is best able to deal with terrorist threats, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll."

"In a November ballot test, Kerry leads Bush 48 percent to 44 percent among registered voters, with 6 percent currently supporting independent candidate Ralph Nader. Last month, Kerry and Bush were tied. With Nader out of the race, Kerry's advantage swells to eight points, clear evidence of the continuing threat that the Nader candidacy poses to the Democrat."

And check this out: Kerry is now considered MORE HONEST AND TRUSTWORTHY! Put that in your pipe and smoke it you pundit douche bags!

"But by a 52 percent to 39 percent margin, Kerry is seen as more honest and trustworthy -- a troubling finding for Bush whose truthfulness in the run up to the war in Iraq has been called into question."

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A58293-2004Jun21_2.html

November is a long way off, and there are many battles yet to come, but we just might win this thing!

1. It's great!
We have to be vigilant though. No matter how much the people want Kerry in, and * out, we need a very solid win to counteract the inevitable Repuke cheating, especially regarding bbvs.

2. WP/ABC Historically Has Favored Bush!
If you look at their history they are always at least a few points higher than the average. This is terrific news! Kerry also TROMPS Bush on the trust issue!

4. Shows just how goofy last week's Harris poll was...
...which had Bush up by 10% nationally.

5. Ya gotta love that doofy pic of
the boy king on msnbc's front page (gag). "Bush viewed as stronger leader", give me a break.

6. The fact that Nader is pulling six points is troubling
and I don't think it is a polling or statistical anomaly. He may get the vote of many of those who are against the war and see no difference between Bush's and Kerry's stance on Iraq ( a pure peace vote).

I am wondering if Kerry wishes he had voted against the war now.

9. Kerry did not vote for the war in Iraq. He voted for the threat of force-
which enabled Bush to go before the United Nations and demand that inspectors be returned to Iraq to "disarm" Saddam Hussein. Bush abused the Congressional as well as the United Nations resolutions by yanking out the inspectors and rushing to war--all the while insisting that, "War is my last resort."

Does anyone, but the most ardent Bush apologists, still cling to this absurdity?

10. I am a Kerry supporter and I don't believe that if Kerry had been
President he would have taken us to war in Iraq. However, for political reasons, he, with the majority of the Senate, did hand a blank check to Bush in October 2002. Like many of the uninformed, he probably thought the war would be quick and easy, and he didn't want to be caught on the wrong side of history.

Even if what you say is true, that he did not vote for war but the "threat of force" (whatever that means), he did join with the majority in Congress in once again disavowing their constitutional authority to declare war.

11. The threat of force
means quite simply, let the UN inspectors in or we invade.

12. Well I think that
people are more likely to say they will vote Nader in the polls than they are to actually vote for him. Like they get to file a little protest vote over the phone, but in the actual voting booth they will vote Kerry.

13. I also believe that Nader's numbers will shrink
the closer we get to election time, especially if its close.

But I think that perhaps Nader will do better than many expect (if he stays in) because he is the only clearly anti-war candidate.

14. Kerry didn't start the war, and only voted for * to go to war under UN
auspices, after the inspections were done, and only if those inspections proved that Iraq had wmd. * lied, to the US Senate and citizenry, and our soldiers died. I wish Kerry, Clinton, Edwards, and others had voted against the damned IWR, but they did not take the country to war. * did and is being held responsible by the public. When push comes to shove at the polls, most potential Nader voters will wake up to this fact, imho, and vote to get * out by voting for Kerry. For those folks a vote for Kerry really will be ABB. Even though I think Kerry will make a wonderful president irregardless of his Iraqi vote, I'll take ABB votes to get the job done.

7. Look at this same poll without Nader: Kerry by 53% to 45%!!
Look at the difference! Without Nader, Kerry is winning by eight!

8. Bush will live and die on his terror war credentials
He was betting the economy would not be an issue so he's loaded up on being the brave carrier flight deck landing CiC who will piss on terrorists everywhere.

Looks like he's fucked now.
