A Message from Wes Clark June 23, 2004
WesPAC is on a roll!
Thanks to your help since launching our new organization just six weeks ago, we’re getting our message out -- on the campaign trail, in print, on TV, on the radio, and through the Internet.
This is one of the most important elections in American history. The stakes couldn’t be higher, and the consequences of losing are daunting: A re-elected George Bush, with larger Republican majorities in Congress, the votes to name the most ultraconservative Supreme Court in memory, and the power to wage war and further restrict civil liberties without any remaining checks and balances.
But with your continued support, we can lead our country in a far better direction. I've been traveling around the country and sense a new spirit among Democrats, independents, and even some Republicans that this election can begin a new day for America. We can continue our success in reaching those concerned with foreign policyand national security issues, with veterans, their families and military communities. We can end the division and polarization of American politics and bring back that "united we stand" spirit that was so important to our campaign, and now John Kerry's.
That’s why WesPAC’s mission is so critical. We must change the foreign policy in this country. We must hold the Bush Administration accountable for their failures of leadership, and elect John Kerry our next President. We must work constructively with our allies, fix the mess in Iraq, rebuild our credibility around the world, and renew our commitment to the values that have made America great: service, integrity, and accountability.
But we need your continued support to fulfill WesPAC’s ambitious agenda. Please contribute to WesPAC today!
Former Ambassador Gordon Giffin, our PAC President, along with Catherine Grunden, WesPAC’s Executive Director, are leading our team of staff and advisors to help me turn our ideas about how America’s foreign policy needs to change into concrete, comprehensive proposals. We’re developing innovative solutions for reinvigorating theAtlantic Alliance, stabilizing the Middle East, and improving our national security by strengthening our economy.
And I've been asked by Senator Kerry, national Democrats, and Congressional candidates to campaign on theirbehalf. In fact, next week I'm traveling to New York, Texas, and Missouri to stump for Erskine Bowles, Charlie Rangel, Martin Frost, and Nancy Farmer. I've answered the call, and so have you. Together we can make a real difference -- we can change America!
With your help, we can take our case from coast to coast, to voters who hunger for a national security strategy that is both strong and wise. We can have a real impact, a decisive impact, helping to swing some very key states for John Kerry and elect some great leaders to the House and Senate who are in razor thin battles.
Please give whatever you can today to support WesPAC’s mission!
We’ve got a lot of work to do. But I can’t imagine anything else that’s more important than working to secure America’s future.
And I can’t do it without you.
With great appreciation,
Wes Clark
P.S. I appreciate any financial support you can provide – whatever you can afford. Please make a secure online contribution to WesPAC today!
