is there any chance bush will get this endorsement
<The American Federation of Government Employees, which represents the nation's roughly 2.5 million federal workers, begins a national conference Thursday in Pittsburgh, highlighted by a vote on whom the union will endorse in the November election.
Although the American Federation of Government Employees has been tightlipped about the endorsement _ union officials say 36 percent of their members describe themselves as independents and 18 percent say they're Republican _ it has fought with the Bush Administration for the past year and a half over plans to privatize federal jobs.
Bush's campaign didn't immediately comment but Sen. John Kerry's campaign said Kerry would be thrilled to get AFGE's endorsement. Kathy Roeder, a Kerry spokeswoman, said the senator believes he can do a better job as their boss.
"John Kerry believes we can do better, not just the issues they care about _ their jobs _ but giving them all the resources they need to do their job well," Roeder said.>
