1. Yes, if it leads to a swarm of SDs declaring their allegiance by
next Wednesday. If it goes beyond that, not so much. But can we finally put FL and MI behind us? I hope so. :toast:

2. Why, what happens by next Wednesday?
Obama is down by 61 delegates; after South Dakota and Montana and Puerto Rico, I'm guessing that number will be more like...

17?

You really think Obama will have trouble getting 17 Super Delegates, even after these last 3 races are done? Yeah right.

4. Exactly, it's over!
For the first time since it started, I think we can agree this race ended today.

15. I'm quoting what I read; after the last primary, the SDs are expected

to declare in swarms. Then there'd be no reason to not declare, and Clinton will have had her day (or months, as the case may be).

19. Well, I doubt ALL of the SDs will declare in between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
Some of em probably go to bed early...and others like to sleep in. :)

But by next Friday, I bet you'll be right.

6. I thought MI should be a 50-50 split. But at least a compromise was reached....
and the MI & FL matters have been settled. Hopefully, the nomination process and GE can move on.

20. I think both should have been a 50/50 split. Where's the deterrent?
Edited on Sat May-31-08 07:30 PM by rocknation
Do we have to worry about other states deciding it's "worth it" to lose half their delegates in order to run their primaries out of turn?

23. Good point. I guess I judge them differently 'cause I think Clinton prob'ly would've won FL, even
if Obama had campaigned there. I am doubtful, though, that she would've won MI, if Obama had campaigned there.

But you're right. A 50-50 split for both would've been fairer.

11. I'm really pissed off at Hillary now though.
It didn't have to get so ugly like it did today at the RBC. It was shockingly shameful.

22. She had to know what her supporters would get up to in that
room and if she had any dignity at all, she would have publicy requested that they either stay home or be respectful. I swear to God I have Hillary induced Tourrette's syndrome now, I just see her or hear her or hear one of her bullshit talking points and my eye starts to tic and I involuntarily utter obscenitites!!!! Which is why, as an Obama supporter, I am smart enough to stay away from microphones and cameras, lest I make my candidate look as pathetic as the Hillary crowd made her look....

13. Yes indeed....our votes in Michigan were respected...
Edited on Sat May-31-08 07:22 PM by tokenlib
They mentioned the thousands of write-in votes that were discarded, the uncommitted were not ignored... Hillary got more delegates than she would have gotten in a revote.

Florida and Michigan put behind us--a very good day. Tuesday night will be victory!!!

17. Exhausting to watch
I can only imagine how beat the committee members are.

I am so proud to be a Democrat. The repubs were banking on us failing today. We persevered. We came to an agreement. Florida and Michigan will be part of the nominating process. It is a good thing.

Now, if we can just get a certain person to exit the stage...all will be well.

If Hillary can't help Barack Obama become the next President, she needs to move out of the way.
