The Liars for Bush spent only half a million airing that ad. They were just trying to get media attention, not get people to see their ad. And thanks to some good debunking work from the Kerry campaign, condemnations from numerous high-profile figures (McCain, Giuliani, Gen. Tommy Franks, Nebraska's GOP Governor), this story is fading.

But now MoveOn has to come out swinging with an ad that will do nothing but extend this smear and give more coverage to the Liars' story. Media Fund is the real 527 hero. They make a lot less noise than MoveOn, but their ads are well-made and focus on the issues that really matter.
