About Shelton's comment re: Clark
Do you think there's any chance that--if Clark gets the nom--Shelton would take the comment back or explain it away? He's a democrat and is working for a fellow candidate. If his own candidate (Edwards) doesn't get the nod, you would think that he would want whoever the DNC chooses to win against Bush. I think he should rescind his comment. The Repubs would push that in their ads (the integrity part).

Thoughts?

1. Depends.
It could be a dead issue thats best left dead unless Bush brings it up.

2. If Clark gets the nomination, I'd be willing to bet my life Bush would
bring that comment up again and again.

3. Naw, Shelton seems like a jerk.
From what I hear, a few "high ranking" officers had to cover for some pretty wretched deed Shelton did in Iraq in Bush War 1. Clark was one of those who did the covered Shelton's ass. You see how Shelton repays Clark, huh?

6. Shelton's ass
What did Clark do to cover Shelton's ass? Just curious.
Clark ought to tell him if he doesn't take his comments back...he will expose him...his ass that is. I giggle at the thoughts.

5. Would be nice, but a minor thing
Edited on Sun Jan-04-04 08:57 PM by NV1962
After all, the Commander-in-Chief already set the record straight - by personally condecorating Wes Clark (which I think carries a lot of symbolic weight) and most recently, with his faxed statement that Wes Clark read out aloud during his testimony at Slobo's trial in The Hague.

"Even" Norman Schwartzkopf has stepped back from using that "character and integrity" smear... No deal.

In fact, let the band of Rovers use it! That would give Wes Clark even more ammo...

8. I don't know if he would be
so kind as to backtrack on that statement. He needs to do it now though. Richard Holbrooke said that the problem IS, "If Clark wins the election and becomes president, that will be Shelton and Cohen's worse nightmare. They will have to salute him and call him Mr. President." hehehe! IF it looks like he's going to win the GE, Shelton would be smart to retract his statement, but I don't know if he will. Being the asshole that he is, I doubt it.
