Hey GD: P!
I have FINALLY reached my 1000th post!
And I wanted to use it to say goodbye to GD: P and welcome the new GD: GE (or whatever it will be called!)
This has been a wonderful primary season.
I would like to use this 1000th post, however to hope that we all are able to come together, unite, and get along! We have a real shot at winning this thing in the GE!
I have supported Edwards, Hillary, and now Obama. I still support Edwards and Hillary and always will in all of their future endeavours (unless those endeavours involve murdering kittens).
The Clinton supporters should learn to forgive the Obama supporters who unfairly bullied them. The Obama supporters should learn to forgive the Clinton supporters who so often offended them.
Maybe we should just make compromises. Obama supporters should agree that BY SOME MEASURES Hillary does come out on top in the popular vote, and Hillary supporters should agree that Obama is NOT an illegitimate candidate at all and has worked hard and EARNED this position every step of the way. Obama supporters could possibly admit that MAYBE Clinton could do a better job as VP than ... idk... let's say a dead monkey. And Hillary supporters could admit that Obama ran a better campaign, with better campaign choices, and better advisers than Hillary did. Then we can all get along and be friends again! Because lets face it, even though some Obama supporters don't understand it... some Hillary supporters really do LOVE Hillary and think of her as a wonderful person. AND even though some Hillary supporters don't understand it... some Obama supporters really do LOVE Obama and think of him as a wonderful person.
I'll start this suggested process by saying, as someone who voted for Hillary Clinton, that I believe Obama is going to be one of the best candidates we have ever had. He is going to move people, shake up the concept of the "electoral map", and inspire voters of a new generation. I can't wait to watch him debate McCain, and to someday call him President Obama!
So lets clear our ignore lists (and hopefully not ever use that list again, because ignoring people... imho is just plain counterproductive), lets all donate to Obama's GE campaign, and lets WIN this thing! Because YES! WE! CAN!
Okay, now time for a group hug
