You don't have to be a Dean person or even like him to enjoy a house party or have one. This will be during Bush's convention speech. Money collected will benefit the candidates who are running and sponsored by DFA or the group of your choice. More details in a few days.

Democracy for America's National Finance Director, Lindsay Lewis, sent this call to action today.
Dear grassroots leaders and supporters,
Due to financing laws, John Kerry is now restricted from accepting more campaign contributions, so Democracy for America and other grassroots organizations need to refocus our efforts on turning out the vote.
This is why we are organizing nationwide house parties designed to help both DFA and another organization of your choice. Start planning now for a September 2nd house party—the proceeds will support DFA as well as another group working to elect progressive candidates. Any house party which raises over $500 will have the opportunity to tell us how to spend this money. DFA will send 50% of what you raise to a group or organization suggested by you*:http://www.democracyforamerica.com/houseparties/Is your local DFA organization trying to raise money for canvassing this fall? Do you want to help the League of Conservation Voters put volunteers on the ground in battleground states? Plan a house party to support both Democracy for America and any other organization you're working with to win this election.
This first series of house parties will take place on September 2nd—the same day George Bush speaks to the corporate executives, special interests and other elites gathered at the Republican Convention in New York.
Invite a group of friends over for the night of the 2nd and be a part of a series of national house parties where folks don't have to put up hundreds of thousands of dollars for a good seat. Your house party will have its own individual bat to track donations:http://www.democracyforamerica.com/houseparties/This election is in our hands. The night George Bush accepts the nomination marks the home stretch of the most important election in our lifetime. Let's get together and kick it off right.
RSVP below to join a conference call with Gov. Dean on Thursday night where he will introduce the house parties and discuss our party goals.
