3. the whole thing is bullshit
If Mrs. Clinton were the democratic candidate, would we be asking for Bill's cookie recipe?

The whole thing just smacks of sexism.

I wish we could separate ourselves from it.

6. You forgot ... this was all started to smear Hillary as the "working Mom"
in 1992 ...

Going up against Grammy Babs, the Repukes wanted to attack the image of a working mother as not being capable of nurturing her child.

So, Repukes (with the co-operating "liberal media") came up with the "Chocolate Cookie Bake-Off".

In 1996, when Bob Dole was facing Bill Clinton, the challenge came up again ... but Liddy backed off, saying that she didn't have grandkids or something like that. She got to skate.

In 2000, Tipper got to face off against Plastic Smile ... but Laura Bush said that she didn't have a chocolate chip cookie recipe, because Georgie-Porgie wouldn't eat them, so she had a "ginger-snaps" recipe ... so much for the rules of the contest.

I don't recall right now if there was any contest when it came to Bush-Kerry ...

And now, it's up again ... :eyes:

8. Isn't she the one that started it? She posted "her' recipe on McLame's website as her own n/
I don't see what that has to do with sexism.

10. I personally don't care who started it
it's sexist because we wouldn't ask for a man's cookie recipe if his wife were a candidate.

That's what sexist.

13. see post #6 - it wasn't sexism, it was originally an attack on
mothers who work ... still a big no-no for the Repukenicons in the early 90s ...

It's resurfaced as "Gee, we could eliminate the unemployment rate if women would just give up their jobs and stay at home and raise babies ..."

9. Bill DID have a cookie in the contest.
Except, unlike the second Mrs. McCain, he was honest enough to admit they're just his favorite of his cooks' recipes, and not act like he's slaving over a hot oven to make them for his family.

11. I wasn't aware there was even a contest
All I know is that's it's a stupid thing for anybody to invest any time in whatsoever.
