Poll question: 41 Days Until the Start of the Democratic National Convention, When Will Veep Be Announced?
41 short days until the Convention in Denver. About six weeks until the General Election Campaign is going full tilt.

When will we get the name for the veep? I believe Obama already knows, the veep has accepted and they are planning for the perfect moment. When will it be?

5. Have the dates been set for that?
It would make sense to have the world and the country know the ticket by then.

15. Doubtful
The world tour is a card they are going to use to get the media back on message after these dismal few weeks of distractions like the New Yorker cover and FISA. VP speculation is another card that they can use to do this and there's no reason to play both of them at the same time.

3. I believe they will wait till the convention
Mostly because it will not be Hillary and they want to avoid a riot by the deadenders.

9. Now that is a very good point.
I know people are calling the announcement "late" now because Kerry announced Edwards as his running mate in early July. But you can't remember that without the proper context that the 2004 race was declared "over" in February, so Kerry waited over 4 months to pick his running mate. Obama would have less than 2 1/2 months from June 11 to the convention to make that call.

I have no problem with him taking his time and choosing the best person for the job whomever he or she (but not THAT she) may be.

Hey, where did that picture come from?

The time on my e-mail says "sent Tue 7/6/2004 3:47 AM", which means that on the East Coast, it would have 7:47 a.m. that it was sent out.

So there you go!! July 6th was the date Senator Kerry announced Senator Edwards was his running mate ~~~

13. Rumor has it he'll wait until right after the Democratic Convention to try and deflate any bounce..

Then again.... that's just media rumor.

Two of McSAME's potential candidates are off the list because of their stupidity just within the past week.

>> Phil Gramm's "whiner" screw up.
>> Mark Sanford's HUGE CNN interview screw up.

My prediction is that McSAME selects Charlie Christ (closet gay who is marrying a lady he recently met) in the hopes that it will win the old man Florida. >> http://www.buzzflash.com/articles/election08/238

16. Should be interesting to see how that plays out with the religious right
and unfortunately even some of the more saner religious bunch if Christ becomes VP nominee.
