nobody seems to believe it is the case. Tweety yesterday was laughing about it. But I kinda hope he will pick a VP soon (if not this week) just because then we will know who we are up against and can plan accordingly.

Cracks me up about predictive journalism, like sports or politics. All these reporters pick who they think will win or what will happen. If they are right, people are amazed, and if they are wrong, people forget it. So they are wrong or right at about the same frequency as a coin toss.

If he's not naming sources, we won't know until after it's over, anyway, so who cares? He's just trying to undermine some of Obama's attention this week, anyway. Novack, I mean, not McCain. I don't think McCain even has a plan. Novack probably wants McCain to win more than McCain does.

Short term thinking would be ruling the day. IF he does it will Obama is in Europe he will have to split the coverage of his vp pick with Obama if he waits till the day Obama gets home he can have a few days coverage to himself. Of course the Obama camp is three steps ahead of everything he does so they would probably just announce his VP to take control back from mcsame but still. Announcing while Obama is in Europe not only looks petty but wastes a solid bump just to slow press coverage for a day.

14. the Olympics run from August 8 to August 24 followed a couple days later by the Democratic National

Convention. So it is a reasonable guess that the McCain campaign will not want to compete for media attention. So it is a reasonable educated guess that they will likely announce the decision prior to August 8.
