Why is everyone (media) acting like its ok for McCain to claim Obama would rather "lose" the war

This election cycle is repeating the Primaries. Mccain is throwing everything he can at Obama, nothing is sticking, so he is desperate for headlines. The media largely ignore the OldFart.

11. It is a horrible thing to say. McCain just doesn't

get called on things. Well, there is a lot of comments mocking his ad that blames Obama for gas prices but in all things military or foreign policy McCain is just not questioned.
Clark rightly said being shot down didn't qualify him as president (after complimenting him strongly and after the interviewer implied it did) and the media was horrified...what a horrible thing to say was their cry. It wasn't even an insult.

But McCain can say this or he can lie to a veteran about his votes on veterans issue and act like the vet is making it up or he can say things way off base about facts (and on and on) and it's not criticized. Obama would be criticized on every network for days on end for any of them, let alone all of them.
