Watching him in clips where he's talking about Obama, he looks seriously ticked, furious. Looking at him I could see him blowing his top because he's just so damned jealous. I think it's not long before he loses it at an event and certainly expect it to happen before the convention. The better Obama does, the madder McSame gets.

8. I'm certain he already has in private....

these repubs think that everything should be coming to them...from McCain's vantage point, he got bad advice: "make Obama out to be a wimp...no time in Iraq, etc. He doesn't have the street creds...he'll be outclassed by the generals, the Iraqi establishment, and the troops."

What they didn't count on was:

a. The generals have three-digit I.Q.'s and it's been a long time since a Prez did. Much easier to talk to an intelligent person, no matter what, than an impaired moran.

2. The Iraqis want to slam Bush for their own, probably insane, reasons. Fine with me.

Trois: The troops may love this guy...he's a commanding presence who doesn't have to hold his arms like he's trying out for The Village People's construction worker. He's the essence of intellectual civilian command of the military establishment. They don't really care too much about his race, I would guess. At least most won't in the bad sense...they'd grown up with Colin Powell as the Father Figure in the military.
