Wesley Clark tax plan...promoting right wing family values...
I've read through it now...yep, there's Wesley Clark's plan...promoting that being married with 1-2 kids is THE American way...just like the Republican right wing.

Any benefit mentioned possible for same sex couple based families?

Any benefit mentioned for married couples without kids?

Any benefit mentioned for single people?

Nope...nada...get married and have more kids in an over-populated world and we'll help you if you make up to $100,000 a year...

If you don't have kids, or in a same sex relationship that can't be federally sanctioned...Wesley Clark's tax plan doesn't care about you...It doesn't even talk about you!!

4. Requiring children and heterosexual couples as key to your tax plan...
Sounds pretty right wing to me.

Democrats have always represented the social big tent...we need to welcome families led by same sex parents...as well as recognize single and married without children people are important.

8. Single parents are the ones who need the break the most,
regardless of sexual orientation. That's what angers me about this kind of tax plan.

11. I dunno
Ensuring that children's needs are met could be considered survival of the species, a very right wing concept. I know many gay and lesbians who are more concerned with children's issues than are most of my straight friends. Gays have children too, and they can get tax relief under this plan.

15. How do gay families get tax relief? They can't file as a family... (n/t)

5. Not nice
Wouldn't it be nice if the Clark people didn't think we existed just to attack them?

I think this is covered in other threads hereabouts, and therefore shouldn't have its own thread. But aside from that, couldn't you disagree by saying something like "I totally disagree with Clark's plan" or "Clark's plan doesn't help singles or those with no children"? Calling Clark's plan right wing (by implication) is just flame bait. Not nice, not necessary.

9. I'm tired of Republican right wing insistence that married with children..
Is the way God intends us to be...and backing it up with federal policy.

Where do same sex couples with children get a break in Clark's plan?

Federal law does not even allow them to file as families...

6. Not accurate
There is a benefit for single parents with children. And Clarks position on same sex couples is essentially the same as Deans as far as I know.

Clark's complete economic plan will benefit singles with no dependents, through healthcare programs, education programs, revitalized economy, etc. And he certainly isn't proposing increasing taxes on them.

I think you are trying to set the bar impossibly high for Clark, but you wouldn't do that would you?

12. Give us ALL a tax break...based on individual income..is that impossible?
But instead...Clark's buys into a single idea of what families SHOULD be.

16. Rewarding "traditional" families with cash
is pretty insulting for those of us who don't want to have kids.
