About Ludacris - can we look at this issue another way?
Edited on Wed Jul-30-08 09:24 PM by CatWoman
I posted a thread in GD about the Ludacris/Obama issue, and I've seen several here.

Sometimes, IMHO, DU can't see the forest for the trees.

Obama just came off a grueling battle for the nomination with Hillary Clinton. Hillary still has a lot of supporters. Obama is still wooing those supporters.

So why would it be a good thing for Ludacris to show his support of Obama by performing a rap in which he calls Hillary a bitch? How is that helping ANYTHING??? Why is that a good thing?

I thought the Rev. Wright brouhaha was bullshit. In my mind, however, the Ludacris thing is entirely different.

Oh, and BTW -- Just like Obama threw Wright under the bus, I wouldn't have a problem at all with him doing the same thing to this guy:

Phil Spector endorses Obama at his murder trial hearing

3. Obama did throw him under the bus already.
Obama camp condemns song: Ludacris 'should be ashamed'

Barack Obama's campaign is condemning a song by the rapper Ludacris that praises Obama and bitterly attacks Senators Hillary Clinton and John McCain.

"As Barack Obama has said many, many times in the past, rap lyrics today too often perpetuate misogyny, materialism, and degrading images that he doesn’t want his daughters or any children exposed to," said spokesman Bill Burton. "This song is not only outrageously offensive to Senator Clinton, Reverend Jackson, Senator McCain, and President Bush, it is offensive to all of us who are trying to raise our children with the values we hold dear. While Ludacris is a talented individual he should be ashamed of these lyrics."

12. i understand why but i'm still not happy about, it's beyond unfair that Obama ends having
to apologize for other people's words---like all the time. I am a fan of Ludacris and i think for this is the final straw, O'Reilly got his Pepsi deal killed and then Oprah gave him some major shit, i'm just tired of it you know?

9. I can't figure out why this is a concern at all. Because they're both black, and
they've met? Obama has a song or two on his iPod? Well, I'd hate to be held responsible for all the offensive "creative license" of the white musicians on MY iPod. Didn't actually meet any of them, but you just know that crazy Eddie Vedder or Alison Krauss is going to get me into trouble!

14. Ludacris called Hillary a bitch?
That figures. He refers to most women as bitches. And can that guy in the photo actually vote?
