Poll question: Would a Prez McCain push to enact a military draft?

I'm quite confident that Americans will do the right thing and elect the next President, Barack Obama, by a fairly sizeable margin. But, in the event that our country suffers a total lapse in judgement and elects another warpig in McCain, would Mac enact a draft?

We all know how thinly stretched and tired our troops have become.

We know recruitment goals are not being met because the policy of stop loss is still widely in effect.

Our military will need a huge fresh infusion of troops is we are to continue our imperialistic, warmongering ways.

I think this is an issue that the Obama campaign needs to grasp and grasp it right friggin now.

Barack could sieze the reigns and dictate the course of this campaign by putting McCain on the defensive until election time with this issue alone, IF HE WANTED TO!

We lost in '04 because Rove dictated the course and kept John Kerry on the defensive.

Will we as Dems ever learn to adopt that same campaign tactic and go on the offensive for a fucking change?

And the way McCain talks about Iran, he makes the Bush team (minus Cheney) sound downright sane.

Everybody thought Bush would re-instate the draft if he was re-elected, but it didn't happen.

I don't think McCain has any plans to re-instate the draft. Should at some point his dangerous foreign policy bring us to a course where the commanders tell him they need more troops or he can't continue, then well it will be brought up as a possibility. The problem is that it's a sure-fire way to guarantee he loses re-election.

Also remember that Congress has to re-instate the draft, not the President.

The video of him forgotting what a simple question was, with Charlie Crist looking tanned and appalled in the background proves that.
