1. Why should we go to war with Korea?
all we have to do is tell China that WalMart will raise prices and lay off the 16000 Walmarters working in China if they do not take care of any problem that Korea starts.

2. I'm not sure of the value of this question
All candidates have talked about the need to defend America; I would assume South Korea fits into that.

3. No doubt they would.
IF NK crosses the 38th Parallel, or something similiar, I think ANY American President would respond.

4. Define "started something"
Big difference between firing up a reactor and lobbing a missle at San Diego.

5. that would be insane
war with North Korea would not be war with Iraq. North Korea does have missiles that, with conventional weapons, could easily hit Seoul and Tokyo and take the global economy down with it.

We need someone in office who understands that use of force is not the best way to respond to crises, and in fact is usually the worst possible option.

7. If NK started a shooting war, yes, the Dems would engage
But the Dems are more likely to take action before hand to prevent it from getting to that point. Can you imagine a Kerry, Kucinich, Dean, etc. telling their Sec. of State NOT to meet with North Korea because they find the leader offensive? Please, Dems have to work with Republicans all day in Congress... they can work with a slimeball dictator.

8. I wouldn't
If NK nuked San Francisco or LA I'd eliminate NK with a few dozen MIRVs but I don't think that I would call it a war. We have no reason to go to war with NK.

9. not enough to go on
"Started something" may mean many things. The Korean War was a UN police action, and I don't think that it technically ever ended. If North Korea aggressed against South Korea militarily, then all involved nations would be obligated to defend South Korea.

It is possible to start something short of an attack, in which case I would hope that no Democratic candidate would endorse a war with North Korea. Leave preventive war to the fascist party.
