Good news to end the work day. What these polls show, as my canvassing in NH showed -- many people are still shifting among candidates.

2. I don't know, but that looks about right to me

I've seen numerous polls with varying degrees of pluralities. This poll, whether or not it is very accurate, looks about how I had the candidates doing. I constantly remind myself that we here on DU are not very representative of the nation as a whole. Most people haven't paid much attention and will just now be making decisions based on the medias portrayal of the candidates.

3. Exactly, and people tend to disregard

that most polls still have a sizeable "undecided" number. Dean's large lead, while significant, isn't insurmountable by any stretch, and this race is far from being settled.

things always tighten up and get interesting when it gets close to actually casting ballots. up to that point its not such a hot predictor of the outcome.

How could LIEBERMAN have more support among Liberal Dems than Clark ?

If I were anyone but a Dean supporter, I would be downplaying this poll, not touting it ! ;-)

Among self-identified liberal Democrats, Dean attracts 28% of the vote (down from 35% a month ago). Among these liberal Democrats, Gephardt is second at 12%, Kerry and Lieberman each attract 11% and Clark has earned the support of 10%

From the constant 'chatter' of the Anti Dean Army here on DU, the good Dr has little Liberal Dem support.

It's good to see that even with a loss, he still leads DRAMATICALLY among LIBERAL Dems - Like me.

How does Lieberman outpoll Clark among liberal Dems ?

8. Dean has peaked

As we get closer to voting people will take a second look at him and choose a more electable candidate.

Even among Democratic voters Dean/Sharpton/Braun/Kucinich combined win less than 1/3 support. If candidates that are far left or perceived as such can't win support among Democrats what makes some think that they can succeed in the general election?
